My car has had multiple issue within the 8 months is have had it. My car has 68900 miles on it and is a 2011. My car was in the shop for a total of two months because, my breaks stopped working on the interstate, it was running hot, my acceleration ( pickup speed) will not work properly. My car is always drifting to the left when I do drive. My check oil light came on, took it to the dealership and had a full tank of oil. They told me again nothing was wrong. A large amount of liquid comes out my car after parking it, assuming it is from my A/C but its more then usual. My A/C does not get cold all the time, its pretty hot. …
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Aveo. The contact stated that while driving with the cruise control set at 70mph the contact fell asleep behind the wheel and crashed into six cable poles. The driver side frontal air bag deployed. The vehicle continued to accelerate at 70mph unto oncoming traffic and the contact was able to depress the brake pedal to cancel the cruise control. The contact believes that the cruise control cable should have disengaged at first impact. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was destroyed. The failure and current mileage was 40,000. Updated 10/10/12 updated 10/15/2012
While accelerating from a stop at a traffic light I reached approx 20mph. At this point, the throttle ceased to respond. I had to coast to the side of road. I put the car in park and let it idle. Even in park, the throttle was unresponsive for a while. Finally I was able to give it some gas and it idled up to 2200 RPM and stayed there. It wouldn't back down. I couldn't get the car out of park. After several minutes, I turned the car off, waited a while, turned it back on and it was like nothing happened. Check engine light is on. This same thing happened the following afternoon after having let the car warm up and after having accelerated to 45mph with no issue. I pulled over and put the car in neutral that time. Car has been maintained well, not sure what's going on.
I was driving and the car slowed down in traffic. It then started to buck then die out! When I started it up again, it started and drove for a short period and died out again in traffic! I have had two or three o2 sensors replaced, even in the first year of ownership,, new off the lot. This vehicle has had the signal switch replaced, the clock went out two years ago, and now it loses power in traffic. This is proving go be a very dangerous vehicle and I hope no one has to die before something is done to remedy the situation!
In August 2014, I purchased a used 2009 Chevrolet Aveo for my daughter. The vehicle had low mileage (16K) and, according to carfax, two previous owners with no reported maintenance problems. I had the car inspected by my local Chevrolet dealership before finalizing the purchase from a Nissan dealership and there were no problems detected. On the date in of the incident, my daughter was traveling on the highway coming home for spring break. She was driving approximately 68 MPH when the car began to decelerate - the speed dropped from 68 to 58, then from 58 to 48, then, when the speed dropped to 38 MPH and the car repeatedly failed to respond when she pressed the accelerator to regain speed, she was forced to pull over to the side of the road. She called me and described the problem. She waited about 5 minutes and then cranked the car again. …
Engine light came on while driving and car started to slow down. It can't be throttled beyond 10-15 MPH, so pulled over. Took it to closest auto parts shop and the code reader came up with p2101/p2135 indicating there is a potential problem with 'throttle' functionality. This problem was reported by GM eng. Team and there is a technical service bulletin with the same model but GM is not considering to fix the issue with my car as it is out of warranty. This is a serious safety concern and expect GM to help fixing it. It is same as NHTSA 10034366.

Check engine light was on in morning when car was turned on, while going to work 20mph uphill my car started acting like I stopped pressing on the throttle pedal. I came to a stop on the hill placed car in park and restarted up hill. Car was noticeably trying to work 2x as hard. After work car was taken to a auto service center. The auto shop gave me these codes after the reading was completed; p2106, p2110, p2135, p2101.
