I am not a mechanic so I don't know what All I know is what I like I experienced and when I was driving down the road, my Cadillac shut off like it had no power to it no power steering no lights no dash lights no warning lights or nothing pulled over my car will not start back up I had to have it towed when I got home and looked inside the casing around. The battery had melted with a bunch of wires and tubing that was on top of the battery completely melted everything inside.
The cue screen will not work to raise up the screen to view there is no backup camera to view because of screen not popping up and or no sensors warnings working causing animals and, people or objects not to be seen when backing up. Also back lift gate will no close to latch down and lock, causing liftgate to open while operating the vehicle on open road
The first things to go were the headlights, rearview camera & the seatbelt wouldn't fully retract. Then ALL the dash warning lights flashed like a Christmas tree; the radio, heat & AC settings changed on their own; & the navigation screen scrambled into pixels like a crashed computer screen! These issues went on sporadically for months. I was convinced the vehicle was possessed. It seemed things would act up when it rained, was damp or humid. After spending thousands, things got worse. My windows, sun roof & hatchback opened on their own & wouldn't close. I'd have to pull over, turn off the engine, wait a while & restart it like a reset, which was rarely successful the first time. I haven't opened my sunroof in over a year. …
My car has push to start and the keys should detect and start your vehicle when you get in the car. The idol kept saying no remote detected . The only way to start the car was to put the keypad in the middle console. I took it to christians brothers automotive where the diagnostic said I needed to replace the keyless entry module. A week later while I was driving it , the idol on the screen said no remote detected and the car completely shut off while I'm in motion. The only way to start it again was to hold the keypad against the middle console.I took it back to christian brothers where they printed out the technical bulletin that deems this issue to be a known issue since 2010 and that I will have to take it to a Cadillac dealership where I will have to pay again for a diagnostic and whatever issues they come up with. …
I drove the vehicle, parked, and I noticed the engine fan didnt turn off in a reasonable amount of time after parked (over 2 hours). I drove to the dealer only for them to refuse to run a simple diagnostic. Was driving and vehicle being accelerating even after I completely removed me feet; I also looked down witnessed the pedal modulating itself in and out, shortly followed by an abrupt braking incident. I was just able to restart and pull over to emergency stop. I hadnt gotten far from the dealer, so after two hours of waiting for a tow truck, I attempted to drive the truck back to the dealer only to have the same violent braking but this time also followed by a sporadic loss of power steering. I was able to creep the vehicle back to the dealer and control any losses of control, it felt like the vehicle was having a seizure. …
Tonight sept. 25th, 2016 it happened again. My dashboard went completely black for a minute or two. The first time it happened was several months ago and I thought it was a temporary glitch. Both incidents occurred while driving home at night on the freeway doing 70-75 miles/hr. I'm not sure if the headlights went out as well because I'm too focused on remaining calm and keeping my eyes on the road preventing an accident from happening. The car was in motion on the freeway while this occurred. This first time it happened I was driving straight down the freeway. The second time it occurred I was exiting and taking a curve on the loop. I don't know what it'll take for a recall to happen but I hope it won't take a deadly crash to occur before they decide to have a recall for this issue. …
