What 2007 Cadillac SRX owners say

Transmission & drivetrain

I discovered fluid leaking under the vehicle and a banging, loud noise was present when shifting to 1st gear. The vehicle was taken to the mechanic where it was diagnosed that the rear differential gasket was ruptured. I called the GMC dealer in costa mesa, ca and I was informed that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 07V589000 (power train), even if the vehicle experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 65-70,000m. Please help me since the dealer said is not their responsability, because based on the VIN number, this car is not included in the recall. The recall started on dec.20, 2007, so I'm almost 100% that my vehicle was built before that day in the year of 2007. Please help me since this noise is so loud and the banging is so powerfull, that my kids always think that I hit or somebodyelse hit our car.

2 timing chains within 8 months just put the second one in on Saturday and 4 days later the car is making the same noise again. I have spoke to many people about this and they are telling me this is a problem with this motor. The second time the timing chain went I was driving down route 55 in nj and the car shut off and would not start the first time it went I was in the driveway and would not stay running. I do not have the money to keep putting in this or the funds to get another car I expect when I pit money into the car I don't expect it to start running the way it was when the timing chain went.
