Google on-board gives a persistent error that the MMI and car driving technology firmware cannot be completed. Service center says it's known and they can't do anything. The car is supposed to have voice control over vehicle temperature and functionality - it does not. It frequently will not automatically connect to a wireless Apple Car Play or Google Auto connection. Firmware is also supposed to communicate w car speed, etc. to make Acura Assist driving more safe.
I am writing to formally escalate an unresolved matter regarding my 2026 Acura MDX Technology, purchased on [redacted], from Piazza Acura of [redacted]. As a loyal Acura customer of over nine years and currently on my fourth lease, this experience is both unexpected and unacceptable. Since shortly after purchase, the vehicle has exhibited persistent and unresolved performance issues, most notably harsh and inconsistent gear shifting and a pronounced vibration in the accelerator pedal. Despite multiple service visits and significant time invested, these concerns remain unresolved. …
Hello! I am writing to report an urgent and serious safety failure involving my 2025 Acura MDX A-Spec and to request immediate investigation and action. The vehicle's driver-assist systems - specifically the lane departure warning and forward collision warning - failed to operate. In addition, both the steering wheel and the accelerator became stuck, causing my vehicle to collide head on with oncoming traffic. These failures placed my life and the lives of others in immediate danger. I previously opened a case with Acura Contact and Client Relations (Case #16550271). To investigate my vehicle failures that caused this major accident, the response I received was inadequate and deeply concerning. …
(1) My airbag's did not deploy when an another car drove into the front of my car causing extensive damage. It has been deemed a total loss by Liberty Mutual (claim #[redacted]) and will be towed in a day or two to their salvage yard from the auto body shop. (2) Based on what I was told by the claim adjuster, body shop and police they didn't understand why they didn't deploy, especially since one of the air bag sensors was directly in front of the impact. (3) No - Acura has not been easy to communicate with and assigned me a case #[redacted] but after I answered their questions by email a few days ago they have stopped communicating with me. (4) The car has been inspected by the body shop and Liberty Mutual. (5) No
The contact owns a 2024 Acura MDX. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 MPH and driving over construction steel plates on the roadway, the brakes independently engaged while the accelerator pedal was depressed. The contact stated that the failure could have caused a rear-end crash while driving at faster speeds with other vehicles nearby and posed a risk to her 1-year-old child seated the car seat in the second-row rear seats. The BRAKE warning light was illuminated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure by telephone. The failure mileage was approximately 21,642.
Driving to work, about to merge onto the highway when my car beeped at me and several warning messages appeared on my dashboard: "Road departure mitigation system problem. See your dealer.; Low speed braking control problem. See your dealer.; Electric power steering system problem. Steering assist not available. Do not drive.; Collision mitigation braking system problem. See your dealer." Simultaneously, the steering wheel became extremely hard to turn and the car would barely move, even when applying pressure to the gas pedal. I was, very slowly, able to turn my car off of the main road, onto a side street, and eventually into a parking lot. In the parking lot, I turned the car on and off several times but the warning messages returned and the steering wheel was almost impossible to move. I then opened Acura Link and requested a roadside assistance for a tow. …
While driving at approximately 25 mph with no vehicle in front of me and no objects in the road ahead of me, the automatic braking system suddenly and unexpectedly engaged and brought my vehicle to a near stop. This was sudden and unexpected and the vehicle behind me nearly collided with my vehicle. It also caused my head/neck to jolt forward and while I did not sustain an injury it was a significant "jolt". The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. My safety and the safety of others was put at risk by my vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly braking automatically for no reason. This issue could easily cause collisions and injure me, my passengers, and occupants of vehicles driving behind my vehicle who may not be able to slow down or stop in my time when my vehicle automatically brakes suddenly and without warning, for no apparent reason. …
I have taken my vehicle to the Acura service department three times for this issue. Each time, they were unable to find a fault code or permanent fix. They have repositioned the front camera and removed an Acura sticker from the windshield, but the problem continues to occur at random. The service department said diagnostic tests show no error, yet the system still triggers false collision warnings. I'm concerned about the safety of driving a vehicle whose collision avoidance system malfunctions without warning. This issue has occurred on city streets and highways, in clear weather, at various speeds. The alerts come on suddenly with no obstruction ahead. Acura has not provided a permanent fix, and I feel unsafe driving the vehicle. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether this is a common defect in 2023 Acura MDX models.
