My 2022 Acura MDX A-Spec developed an electrical problem where I heard an extremely loud pop come from the stereo system before it stopped working and then the infotainment screen stopped working as well. I took it to the dealer who determined that a water leak in the sunroof drain plug caused the interior of the vehicle to become saturated with water and cause corrosion to electrical bundles. By searching the internet, I found that this was a known manufacturer's defect with this specific model that had been made known to the dealership and they did nothing about it. Having an electrical problem could have put us at risk had things stopped working at an inopportune time on the highway or caused a malfunction at a critical time while driving. I submitted a request to Acura for an extended warranty of this problem, but that request was denied. …

MDX back sunroof drains cracked causing the car to flood. The water came into the back hatch and also damaged the amp to the speaker system. All of the Carpet had to be pulled out of the car. This car is only four years old. Luckily, I caught it because my whole back hatch was full of water, but this could've caused mold and serious health problems. I have found 100's of reviews on many different online portals stating this is a common problem with a 22 to 25 MDX. I just bought this car a year and a half ago used and I have to now put another $5500 into it. I did buy the extended warranty, but they are saying this is not included in that. From what I'm seeing on Acura MDX group pages this is an extremely common problem that's costing people a lot of money. There is no way apart should be breaking this easily in a car that's four years old, especially a luxury car such as the MDX advance.

My vehicle was parked under my car port immediately after returning from the grocery store. As I was unloading the car I saw and smelled smoke which then erupted into a fire coming from the engine compartment. We called 911 and when the fd arrived the car was totally engulfed as was my building. Suspect fuel line leak. Insurance company investigating. Fd says Acura MDX was cause of fire. Dangerous situation as no prior indicators from vehicle, recalls, etc.. Photos available if needed. If gone unnoticed, entire structure could have been lost.

Front passenger misalignment allowing rain water to seep inside the vehicle. This was a new vehicle purchase. It was only discoverable when a front seat passenger was riding in the new vehicle while it was raining. The leak was ongoing for an unspecified time, from the time the vehicle left the manufacturer, Honda until the time the dealership took delivery of the vehicle, radley Acura, falls church, va. Honda north America has admitted that it was a factory defect and do not not want to do a buy back. As I was driving in a stop and go traffic jam, the vehicle would not go forward although I was pressing on the gas pedal, the engine stall and when it finally reacted after pressing it for the second time it went too fast that I couldn't stop in time to avoid rear ending the other vehicle, the emergency braking system did not function properly either. This has happened multiple times even when I driven on highways and there's incoming traffic and the engine goes on stall. But this time it led to an unavoidable accident. I have been concerned for a long time about this issue but I have never received a recall to remedy this problem.

The paint on the roof between the sunroof and front windshield is peeling. I took it to local dealership and was told paint is covered under Acura's Rust Perforation Limited warranty which is 5 years from the of original purchase. I do not have an extended warranty so I would need to pay out of pocket. I believe the classification of this issue under the "Rust Perforation Limited Warranty" is incorrect. The issue is not corrosion originating from the inside out. This is a premature failure of the paint adhesion to the primer, which is a manufacturing defect. This is a known, widespread issue affecting Acura's White Diamond Pearl paint, which is the subject of a pending class action lawsuit (Case 2:24-cv-09728) alleging these paint defects exist in 2013-present models.

There are two parts to this complaint. The issue regarding the transmission is potentially a safety issue and could result in an accident, while the peeling paint problem is already addressed in the Acura Service Bulletin 19-029 for VINs other than mine. Both are well documented problems that have been experienced by other 2016 Acura MDX owners. The transmission issue is an intermittent problem while accelerating and decelerating. There is a abrupt hesitation, or surging. While coating down a steep hil, the transmission will stay in gear at very high revs instead of shifting. These are an annoyance, but the acceleration problem could cause someone to hit the car from behind in heavy traffic situations. Some individuals note on the internet that their engines would accually stall when accelerating. …

The factory applied exterior paint on the roof panel of my 2016 Acura MDX has experienced clear coat and base coat delamination, resulting in complete separation of paint layers and exposure of bare metal. This is not a cosmetic blemish or paint discoloration. The failure involves loss of adhesion between factory coating layers, causing large sections of paint to peel away unexpectedly. The exposed metal surface is at risk of corrosion, which may compromise the long term structural integrity of the vehicle's roof panel. In addition, peeling paint has detached in rigid fragments that could become roadway debris, creating a hazard to other motorists if detachment occurs while driving. This condition matches a known manufacturing defect previously acknowledged by the manufacturer in a technical service bulletin addressing paint delamination on similarly built vehicles. …
