I was driving my 2022 Acura MDX on interstate highway in the middle lane of a three lane road. We had our panoramic sunroof closed, but the interior sliding sunroof door was fully open exposing the entire panoramic sunroof. After a period of time and without indication or warning, the sunroof exploded (sounded like a gunshot when it exploded) sending glass throughout the interior of the vehicle as we were driving at highway speeds. We were lucky that there were no vehicles next to us when the explosion happened because I swerved out of my lane temporarily not knowing what just happened. We were not anywhere near overpasses, trees, or any other hazard that might have dropped an object onto the top of the sunroof. Additionally, we did not see any road debris flying towards our vehicle. …

The windshield washer fluid does not come out of the nozzles. On a wintry day, there was a lot of dirt and grime kicked up from other vehicles and I was unable to see out of the windshield and it caused a very dangerous situation. Acura knows this is an issue but does not want to accept responsibility. There is plenty of fluid in the reservoir and I made sure the nozzles were clear of debris. The vehicle has not been inspected by the dealership or anyone else. There are no warning lights.

The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.
We just got into the vehicle and was driving down the road when the sunroof exploded. Nothing hit it and nobody was around us when it happened. I about went off the road. Didn't know what happened. Very scary that a sunroof can just explode on its own with nothing hitting it.
