"Takata recall!" recieved recall letter in jan. 2016. Everytime I call dealership im told parts are not in. My car already stopped running and I had to have it towed into a mechanic where he knew that the fuel injection issue was a recall. I had to pay him $100.00 for taking my car apart and telling me it was a familiar issue he had when working on another vw..and that I should call vw and ask if there was a recall. Of course, there was. I then had to pay for a 2nd tow from that shop to vw. They fixed that recall..that I never even got a letter notifying me of the recall. Vw fixed it. Yet now I am still waiting as many others for the parts to come in so my car can be repaired with this airbag issue. As far as im concerned this car was made horribly unsafe and its falling apart, aside from the other work ive paid into having done to it. …

Takata airbags I had the recall repair done, shortly there after the horn stopped working and the airbag light came back on. Vw wants to charge me just to look at it. My ref # at vw is 180415119. Further more I was in an accident with a tractor trailer on June 14, 2018 and the airbags did not deploy.

Hello, I have a 2010 vw CC. My airbag light has come on and my horn and steering wheel controls don't work. Volkswagen does have a recall for the "clockspring" which would fix all this but my VIN is not covered under this recall even though some of the same cars and same year are covered. I called them and they said I would have to go get it fixed at a dealership and I would maybe get a refund. Since then my steering wheel light has came on and it is very hard to turn. I can't believe they wouldn't cover this. I would think airbag and horn are huge safety concerns and they already know that this parts fails. When I called Volkswagen customer service they lady could not help me at all other then saying there is another recall for the airbag but they don't have a fix yet so there's nothing they can do. I at least would like my airbag and horn to work, right? …

There was a recall in 2015 involving a clock spring in the steering wheel. Recall description: hair or other fibers May contaminate the airbag clock spring (a spiral wound, flat cable that keeps the airbag powered while the steering wheel is being turned). This contamination May tear the cable and result in a loss of electrical connection to the driver's frontal airbag. A loss of electrical connection to the driver's frontal airbag will prevent the airbag from deploying in the event of a vehicle crash, increasing the risk of injury. On February 29, 2016, vw did a recall repair by installing a cover over the clock spring. On November 22, 2017, I was driving and when I made a turn, I heard a pop in my steering wheel. My airbag light immediately came on along with an airbag error. I lost the use of my horn and the controls on my steering wheel, along with my airbag deployment. …

I purchased my 2010 vw CC used in May 11, 2013 at 35,000 miles--it had two previous owners. Ever since that time, the steering wheel clock spring has been making a chafing noise whenever the steering wheel is turned. More recently, the noise has become louder, and I hope that the ribbon cable within it will not tear and cause an airbag deployment when not in an accident, or a non-deployment when in an accident. I have not bothered to take it to a vw dealer due to the car being out of the 3-year/36,000 warranty and due to excessive prices charged by dealerships. Luckily, the airbag warning light has not yet illuminated. I received a recall notice indicating that a remedy is not yet available. This is unacceptable. …

I had my clock spring replaced last year due to the recall, then my airbag light went on and my steering wheal started doing a clicking sound when I steer to the left or right all control panels on my steering wheel stopped functioning including the horn. I called Volkswagen and they said that they would charge me $150 to access the car, I told them about clock spring and they said that I would have to pay to get that fixed. I really don't find this fair that I have to pay to get something fixed that originally wasn't done correctly I think that they should take more responsibility for their workmanship. Also my seatbelt claps docent work I called them to see if this is something that they would fix being a safety issue and they said no. I think that all car companies should be responsible for seatbelt and airbag issues on a car. …

Clock spring recall recently my airbag light went on and when I make a turn with a steering wheel rotation of over 270* my horn will go off, I also only have intermittent use of the steering wheel controls to my instrumentation. There is a recall on the year and make of my car for the clock spring, however my VIN is not included. The signs point to a defective clock spring to which I lost the functionality of my airbag and the electronic functionality of my steering wheel. I called vw service department and they said my vehicle is not covered under the recall so there is no need to bring it in. I really don't feel safe operating this vehicle considering there has been an open recall involving the Takata recall for well over a year. (vw told me that they will contact me when parts are available to fix). …

Horn has stopped working. Dealer is saying that the repair needed is replacement of the clock spring, which has not been replaced yet on this car, and was not part of the previous clock spring recall (15V483000). Car has had a mild scraping sound around the steering wheel since I got it at 12,500 miles, which is a known symptom of clock spring problems. Currently car has 105000 miles. The Takata airbag recall service was performed very recently, within the last month. There is no error light on currently, airbag or otherwise. But I cannot pass state inspection without the horn working. Due to the original reason for the clock spring recall on this model, I am concerned that the airbag May not be working properly, and additionally, that the car is less safe for not having a horn. …
