The rear taillight lens on my 2025 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport cracked without an impact or collision. Water has entered the taillight assembly through the crack, creating condensation/water inside the lamp and a potential risk of lighting or electrical failure. The vehicle is still within its new-vehicle warranty, but Volkswagen/the dealer declined to repair the assembly. The taillight remains available for inspection. There was no crash, fire, injury, or police report. I understand that similar taillight cracking and water-intrusion problems have been reported by other Volkswagen owners. I believe this may indicate a broader defect trend.
Car's maneuver assistance light flashes as malfunctioning, then the car's infotainment system turns off and on repeatedly until the screen is just black. After the first two things happen then the SOS feature and Exit Warning and Rear traffic alert systems malfunction as well.
The contact's mother owns a 2024 Volkswagen Atlas. The contact stated that he was dropping his daughter off at school, as he shifted into reverse (R) to exit a parking space he observed that the rear view camera image had "flashed" and then the screen went black. The contact stated that he was moving at approximately 2 MPH when he crashed into the rear bumper of the vehicle parked behind him. The contact stated that there was minor damage, paint scrapes to each bumper. The police was called and issued a report and a traffic citation to the contact. The contact stated that no person was injured. The contact stated that he had determined that there was a recall associated to his mother's vehicle VIN, NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V334000 (Back Over Prevention), however she had not taken the vehicle to a dealer to have the recall repaired. …
The contact owns a 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport. The contact stated while driving 80 MPH with the cruise control activated, the ADAS system misread the highway speed limit, and the vehicle suddenly decelerated. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was driven at various speeds with the cruise control activated; however, whenever the vehicle detected a traffic sign, the vehicle adjusted to the sign image; however, while school was not in session, the ADAS system adjusted the cruise control to the speed limit on the road sign. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed with software system failure. The vehicle was repaired, and the software was reset; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,640.
I purchased my car in July 2022 and started having issues with it within 3 months. I've have my car at the dealer 4 times for them to look at... 1 - the brakes (grinding, scraping noise, squeaking that can be fetl in the pedal). I was told each time that the rotors and brake pads aren't compatible. VW knows about the problem but doesn't have a fix for it. They say they clean the pads and that the car is safe to drive (really?). 2 - the infotainment system. On several occasions I cannot switch from one media system (Sirius XM, FM, AM, blue tooth, etc...), when I turn my car on, the screen shows "initializing" but nothing happens. It just sits there. Today was a first; the whole system shut off and the screen was blank. No radio, no phone, nothing. I've made several videos to show the dealer what the system is doing and they tell me it just needs an update, yet I still have the problem. …
While driving less than 30 mph in slow traffic the automatic braking system engaged itself which caused me to almost get hit. Another time, I was in slow traffic less than 20mph both sides of the street were filled with cars driving and my automatic brake began to light up and the brake was engaging but I was still able to keep driving the car despite what was happening with the automatic brakes. In normal driving conditions whenever I press on the brakes the vehicle does not stop right away. It take a lot of effort for the vehicle to stop almost as if, the car is too heavy for the braking equipment installed on the vehicle. There have been maybe one to three times where I slammed on the brakes and the vehicle did not fully stop which now has caused increased anxiety. Another issue I am having not related to the braking mechanism. Electrical on the infotainment system. …
The contact owns a 2021 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65-70 MPH, the vehicle in front of him swerved into another lane and he noticed there was a vehicle stopped in the middle of the highway 40 feet away from his vehicle. However, the automatic emergency braking system failed to engage. The contact depressed the brake pedal but the vehicle crashed into the rear end of the other vehicle due to the short distance. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained soreness to the lower back, hips, and shoulder. The contact sought medical assistance. The vehicle was taken to an auto body shop where it was repaired. The contact stated that on another occasion while driving 25 MPH, another vehicle pulled in front of his vehicle unexpectedly and the contact crashed into the driver's side of the other vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. …
This is a well known issue but their has now been several incidents where my forward braking should have activated and did not and now stela's on 4 different occasions 2 of which were on the highway where the emergency brake was triggered and i have lost control of the vehicle , yet in completely empty parking lots now two separate times i have been able to catch on video that it told me i was within 12 inches of something and there is nothing. I've had this issue starting 10/21 and happened as recently as 8/7 and it's almost gotten me killed, never, one the known recall for airbags not being deployed during two pretty significant accidents . PLEASE HELP ME AS VW IS AWARE OF THIS AND WILL DO NOTHING IM IN A 50,000$ death trap. …
