What owners report

The vehicle since approximately 45,000 miles had exhibited occasional steering wheel jitter that would go away when traveling at high speeds. In addition to the steering wheel jitter, the vehicle would pull to the right when traveling and required continued contact with the steering wheel. Dealerships had indicated the vehicle needed an alignment since approximately 30,000 miles. Wheel balancing performed at discount tire acceptably reduced the amount that the vehicle pulls towards the right when traveling at highway speeds. At 78k miles when visiting an alignment service center the technician indicated that the wheel bearing on the front passenger side required replacement and then demonstrated lateral play in the wheel that permitted a quarter inch to 3/8th inches of play. The bearing had been wobbling for a prolonged period of time.

Tire size 265/65/R17 In 8000 miles on a 2022 Toyota Tacoma, purchased new in August 2022, I have had two Nitto Ridge Grappler sidewall failures. Each has happened at highway speeds (55-60 mph) with adequate pressure (35 PSI). No objects or road hazards were encountered. Each tire displayed significant sidewall damage resulting in rapid loss of pressure (blowout). The passenger side front and driver side rear have both experienced the failure. This is a safety concern as a rapid decrease in pressure creates unstable driving conditions. So far, I have received no response from Nitto or Toyota regarding the failures. Instead, I am now required to purchase two new tires. I am concerned the other two will eventually fail on the sidewalls as well.

Firestone Destination Le2 P245/75R16 On February 20, 2021 just 15 days after I purchased my brand new truck the rear passenger side tire dramatically exploded while I was driving in to my neighborhood. I was traveling at approximately 35 mph when out of nowhere a sound similar to a shotgun interrupted my driving and immediately forced me off the road in between two trees. I was narrowly missed by oncoming traffic and scared for my life. My side step of my brand new car was damaged as well as the rim and driver side wheel well where my car brushed the tree. I called Toyota and they said I didn't have tire coverage so I called my insurance company next. USAA sent a tow truck to pick up the vehicle and they brought it to Tire Choice. …

My tires have only 5600 miles on them...Nitto 265/65R17's. I have my 5,000 mile service. They rotated the tires. A couple of days later I noticed my steering wheel shaking. I took it back to the dealership. They said my tires have High Road Force..only the two that were from the rear. They contacted Nitto, they will not replace the tires because they only cover the first 1/32 of the tires and Im at 2/32. There has to be something wrong with these tires to be so new and yet have this problem. My tires cannot be rotated because the two with the problem will need to stay on the back of the truck so as that my steering wheel wont shake.

Tire failed. The tire is not in my possession anymore. The tire was replaced by America's Tire. I had purchased a tire warranty. Tire failed while traveling at 65 MPH in lane 2 of Interstate 5 northbound at the 5/405 split at approximately 12:35 pm. The traffic was moderate. My vehicle was difficult to control and the noise very loud. The tire pressure warning light did come on. P 265 / 65 R17 1127 SL BSW DOT Code: 1APLV00VX4721

2020 Tacoma · Sidewall · May 2022

I recently changed tires from the factory originals. While tightening the lug nuts 4 wheel studs sheared off while tightening (2 on passenger front tire and 2 on passenger rear tire). In light of this issue I decided to replace all 12 wheel studs on the affected tires. The 8 remaining wheel studs that were still intact all had evidence of thread stretch visible to the naked eye.

On 2 seperate occassions I had a wheel on my 2019 Toyota Tacoma come off while driving. Both after Toyota signed off on work orders and bill of sales showing they accessed the wheels. On 4/11/26 the front left drivers side fell off. Upon picking it up after repairs on April 28, May 6th the left rear wheel fell off while driving again. My safety could have been fatal but luckily no injuries for me and a passanger occurred. Toyota used a Certified Toyota body shop to do the repairs on the first incident not sure who worked on the 2nd as I have not yet been notified the truck is ready. The manufacturer has done all the inspecting no other parties have been involved. No warning. Right before each incident the truck would shake then skid along the floor causing sparks.

I have 4 Toyo Open Range A31, P25 45 R16 Tires on my 2019 Toyota Tacoma. They were new tires on the 2019 Tacoma when I purchased it new from the Toyota Dealership in August 2019. 4 tires on the Tacoma and 1 Spare tire. I noticed over he life of these 4 Toyo tires they wore rapidly and chunked and lost chunks of rubber in the tread areas. I always rotated and balanced my Toyo tires as required. I had yearly front end alignments done . 2020 and 2021. I do an air check every 30 days. There are no mechanical problems with my 2019 Toyota Tacoma. When these Toyo Open Range A31 Tires were new they started out at 11/32 tread in August 2019. As previously noted all 4 tires wore rapidly and chunked, rubber loss in thread. By October 2021at 19,500 all 4 Tires were at 5/32 closer to 4/32 and had Chunking Rubber loss in threads on all 4 tires. …
