The entire brake system became inoperative on my 2018 Toyota Camry on two separate occasions causing a near fatal accident and damaged to my property and to the property of the other driver on the road. The first incident occurred on the freeway while I was driving behind another vehicle. As my car approached the other vehicle, I press down on the brake pedal all the way but my car would not slow down or stop but continue to accelerate thus causing me to rear end the other car. My car gave no prior warning that the brake system was malfunctioning. I was deemed by the insurance company as the responsible party for the accident thus my insurance premium was increased. The second incident occurred when I was in a residential area approaching my driveway. The car again failed to stop when I pressed down on the brake pedal. The emergency hand brake did not work either. …

The vehicle illuminated the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) and stored DTC P26CB71 - Electric Water Pump Speed Stuck. The dealer confirmed the electric coolant pump actuator is mechanically stuck and requires replacement at a quoted cost of $1,257.81. Toyota official TSB-0323-17 (published December 8, 2017) explicitly states that this exact repair for DTC P26CB71 is covered under the Toyota Federal Emission Warranty for 96 months or 80,000 miles from the vehicle's in-service date. Despite the vehicle being well within both time and mileage limits, the dealer and EPA both refuse to honor Toyota's own published 8-year Federal Emissions Warranty, violating 40 CFR 85.2107(a) which mandates that the manufacturer "shall repair or replace" any covered failed emission-related part at no cost to the owner. …

I was going home from Houston to Richmond Texas but a few minutes into driving some warning lights came on and a warning message says Secondary Brake System malfunction. Then all of a sudden the steering wheel was almost locked and was very hard to maneuver. But due to safety of where I was driving I tried hard to reach a Toyota service center nearby which was about to close so I decided to drive to another one nearby my home. A week or so later they said the car was inspected and repaired but on my way home after picking up the car I had to return it again and since then which has been approximately a month now the car is still in service waiting for parts. The safety of others and mine was at risk as the steering wheel was very tough to maneuver. The problem was confirmed by the dealer. …

When I am driving on a 4 lane hwy and I am in the left lane and a car in the right lane stops on the side of me my car stops also by itself .This is very dangerous . Someone can rear end me and cause a major accident. This is putting me and possibly someone else's life in danger.I took it to Team Toyota in Baton Rouge. One technician drove it and it did it for him. They performed software updates. Test drove it several times and said it did not do it for them. Paid over $800. On my way home it did it again, complete stop on its own when a car next to me stopped. Took the car back to Team Toyota the next morning. They did test drive and it did it several times with them. Team Toyota still has my car waiting on a regional field tech to come look at my car. I called Toyota Brand Engagement [phone] to report this and have a case number [redacted] and spoke with Jasmin there.
