All rear lights do not work. I have had the bulbs and fuses replaced the only lights that work are the side markers. Front headlights, I have had the bulbs, fuses, and all components replaced or checked to determine why front passenger headlight was working intermittently and now longer works at all high or low beams, driver side front only high beam works. I was informed there was a recall on a wiring cluster on these vehicles that controls the lights.
Brake lights stay on when the car is in drive. Cruise control will not work. There are other intermittent electrical issues that are not safety related. With the brake lights always on, other drivers don't know when I'm stopping. The problem is ongoing and has been confirmed by an independent mechanic. there were no warning lights or messages. the problem started several years ago before I owned the car.
Headlight went out . Upon changing it I noticed that wiring harness was burnt and melted. Also was driving and power steering went out driving 65 miles per hour. The cruise control got stuck . Right side making horrible noise at times. This has put me and my five year old as well as anyone driving near me at risk of dying.
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Pontiac G6 . On several occasions, the low beam headlights stopped illuminating. The contact replaced the light bulbs multiple times, but the lights continued to burn out. While replacing the bulbs, it was discovered that both light bulb sockets experienced burning and melting. The contact indicated that the odor of burning plastic was present when the headlights were activated for extended periods of time. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 68,000.
Was a a stop on a 2 way street getting ready to make a left turn and a SUV hits us from behind and send me forward with my right arm slamming into dashboard of car with a strained tendon in my shoulder shoulder. Called GM and they state the electrical problem on my car was fixed during our visit for another recall in jan 2014 however we were in an accident for the same issue they said they fixed!
The passenger side low-beam light bulb burned out. Replaced and it burned out again within 2 weeks. Replaced again and saw that the socket wires and part of the socket where the bulb meets the socket had melted. This is not a standard GM replacement part. I purchases an aftermarket wire harnes/socket for the low-beam. A couple weeks later, it did the same thing. My local authorized GM dealer replaced the wire harness for the whole headlight assembly (not under warranty) but said I would need to replace the whole assembly to fix the low-beam. That part is over $200 so I tried another aftermarket wire harness/socket that had heavier gauge wire. It worked for about 3 months and the bulb has burned out again. Keep in mind each time I have purchased the correct light bulbs. I have now been pulled over by police 3 times since this issue began. …
I had to replace the passenger low beam headlight back in February 2015 and again in April 2015. The low beam headlight went out again 3 days later. I have since been pulled over for a headlight lamp being out. I keep replacing the low beam headlight but clearly it's not the bulb. I had a 2008 Pontiac G6 prior to the 2007 Pontiac G6 and it had the same problem with the passenger low beam headlight. I called GM to see about recalls for this issue and was told it was the brake lamp malfunction. I specified that nothing was wrong with my brake lights and they then told me it was still under the recall so they scheduled and appointment with the dealership to have it fixed. Upon arriving home after I left the dealership for this recall and the passenger low beam headlight was still out. …
My headlight burned out on the driver's side of the car. I replaced it and it lasted about two weeks and then burned out again. Found the socket melted and burned up real bad. I replaced the headlight socket assembly and it worked for about a month and then would come on only when I slammed the hood (sometimes.) and then stopped working for good. The bright light on the driver's side of the car worked fine up until then, but soon after went out so I replaced that bulb and socket assembly with no result. Neither bright nor dim light works on driver's side. I can't figure it out. No one can tell me why it's doing it, and none of the mechanics I've been to have any idea why the headlights aren't functioning properly (at all.) it's frustrating. It's dangerous. And it has cost me more money than lights should ever cost a person. …
