Owner reports

Selected complaints filed with NHTSA by 2007 Pontiac G6 owners, lightly cleaned up (personal details are redacted by NHTSA).

My vehicle was stationary at a red light waiting to turn left on a city street in park, as I tried shifting gears back to drive the car jerked forward very intensely ' which it has done multiple times before' . Before reaching the drive position. It then proceeded forward out of my control into the back of a truck linking my front bumper to the hinge on the back of the truck.. In the midst of that I immediately tried shifting into reverse but doing so was very difficult has the car kept pressing forward into the back of the truck, so I put the car in park then back to reverse when it finally shifted into the reverse gear vigorously which then abled be to detach from the truck. I pulled to the nearest parking lot to check the damage, and seen multiple leaks not sure where from.

On whictia in fort worth, texas. I have been dealing with GM since my car steering, shifting cables and other recalls occured since 2014. They have done nothing about it. On 3/3/16 I contacted them in regards to the manner, telling them about the incidents along with the case number

I am greatly in need of your assistance. I own a 2007 Pontiac G6 hardtop convertible. I purchased it in January 2016. About a month after purchase, I tried to put the top up . On its way to closing and locking its mechanism caused a malfunction and broke the part number 25887153 away. I immediately contacted the dealer @ GM of vacaville, ca. The dealership told me, 'this part is no longer available', & they had my vehicle for 3 weeks. I have incurred $ 1400. In auto rental fees. I have talked with more than 20 Pontiac dealers all state; "we have been told by GM to say - the part no longer exist and is not available"the parts manufacture, karmann made the part for GM. They May have the part in their warehouse. Steering is popping and acts like it wants to lock up. Called dealer they said nothing was wrong with it. Called GM they took note. I've had it in the shop for the same problem 3 different times within a yr they repositioned and lubed the I-shaft. Never fixed the problem. My drivers side front area there is a popping noise when its cold. That also was looked at 3 times. I was told there were no problems. It still makes the noise. Actually its getting louder. I was told by GM to take it in and have it diagnosed. I have under 50,000 with no warranty. They want me to pay for something that was supposed to be fixed. And have someone look at something they say doesn't exist. The popping in the steering and left front is still occurring every day but is worse when its cold.

My Pontiac G6 has had an exterior lighting issue since August of 2012. Pontiac will not help me fix this. The brake lights do not work when you press the pedal and turn on without the pedal being pressed. My cruise control no longer works period. A GM technician looked at my car and could not find anything that he could do to fix it. When he used the tech 2 tool, he would try and turn one tail light on and the opposite would turn on instead. Pontiac will not even look at my car at any dealer for free. They want me to pay and maybe get reimbursed for it. I have many issues with my car but this is the worst. My panoramic sun roof leaks and makes a ton of noise while I drive. The sun shade fell off on it as well.

The sun roof of this vehicle creates so much wind noise when you exceed the speed of 40mph or more that it will give you a headache. I have address this problem with the dealer (wade raulerson Pontiac, Buick and GMC, gainesville, florida) at least three times. Each time there is no improvement in the problems of reducing the wind noise. Please let me emphasize that I am not the type who gets headaches. To me this is a safety issue which needs to be addressed.

I own a 2007 Pontiac G6 gtp. I received a letter from Pontiac that there was a recall on the sunroof drain hoses. I brought my car in for the correction. About 1.5 years later after my vehicle is out of standard warranty I find that they are now leaking into my passenger side seatbelt area in between the body of the car and the interior panel. The dealership expects me to pay for this since they say they conducted the repair.
