The contact's friend owns a 2007 Nissan Titan. The contact stated while driving and hauling a sailboat, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to stop immediately and rolled to a stop. The ABS warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The dealer was able to duplicate the failure during a test drive. The dealer stated that the front-end of the vehicle was defective. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure was ongoing, and the vehicle failed to immediately stop while depressing the brake pedal. The manufacturer was contacted and informed him that the statute of limitation had expired and no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was approximately 128,000.
Driving my 2007 Nissan truck down residential road approaching a stop sign when the brake light came on. I tried to stop at the stop sign and my brake pedal went straight to the floor and grinding noise came on similar to sound of ABS brakes when activated. I had no stopping power and went through the stop sign. Luckily there was no other vehicles coming as my wife and children were with me. This is definitely a serious safety concern and near miss. I've researched this when I got home and found 1,000 of other similar cases. When will the NHTSA take action and have Nissan fix the delta stroke sensor on these vehicles before someone gets killed?
The rear axle seals on my 2007 Nissan Titan continue to leak gear oil. I have replaced the seals three times including purchasing and replacing the entire axle shaft, seal and spacer assembly on the third time. These were 2 axle shaft assemblies which cost me over $1000. I have also installed a breather tube on the rear axle and insured it is allowing air to get in and vent the rear axle. It's been a few months after installation and the seals are leaking again. My rear brakes and parking brake are soaked with oil and the parking brake no longer holds the truck in place when parked on a incline/decline.
Metal brake line rupture and complete brake failure. The rear metal brake line crossover from the passenger side to the driver side that is attached to the rear axle just above the jackpot cover ruptured. Brake pedal went to the floor each time it was pressed without hesitation and had no braking control at all. Brake fluid was everywhere under the truck, on the drive wheels, and on the pavement causing its own hazardous condition along with no brakes. Fortunately this happened in my driveway and not while I tow my 10,000lb trailer down the highway. That would not have ended pretty.
I recently bought a 2007 Nissan Titan and I love the truck. I was driving along and I started smelling brakes burning, I pulled over and my rear passenger wheel was smoking. I looked on the back side and rear end dope was on the back of my wheel. The wheel seal has went out. Come to find out looks like the rear differential has been sealed up before. So, its a problem with the Nissan Titan rear end seals and differential seal. It creates a safety hazard getting on the brakes. The wheel could catch on fire.
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Nissan Titan. While driving 40 MPH, the front passenger side caliper bolt detached from the vehicle. As a result, the caliper loosened, which damaged the tire and locked the wheel. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 64,000. Updated 10/19/16 the consumer stated the wheel locked up, and then ruptured causing air to escape. Updated 11/03/16.
Rear axle seals leaking on 2007 Nissan Titan 4wd pickup with 23,500 miles. Rear axle grease was leaking onto wheel and rear brake disk... Potentially causing a failure of the brakes to stop adequately, had I not found the leak as quickly as I did. I understand that this is a frequent failure on the Nissan Titan. Nissan replaced the seals under warranty with identical seals. I did not keep the old parts. Here is one link to a forum that is tracking axle seal failures among its members: http://www.titantalk.com/forums/Titan-engine-transmission-drivetrain/42837-rear-axle-seals-leaks-please-report.html there appears to be 350 Nissan Titan rear axle seal failures reported on this one website alone since August of 2008.
Tl contact owns a 2007 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that the brake pedal seemed spongy and it was very low. It almost extended to the floor. She noticed the failure every time she drove the vehicle. She called the dealership but did not have the vehicle inspected, because she felt they were aggressive and confrontational she took the vehicle to a repair shop and was told that the brake pads and rotors needed to be replaced. The contact had not called the manufacturer to-date. The vehicle was repaired at the time of the complaint. The current mileage was approximately 14,525. The failure mileage was approximately 14,000. The Nissan Titan 2007 has a front end brake problem . They wear out to the point that when you press the brake the front brakes chatter and it feel like you are going over rumble strips. They have been replaced by Nissan three times in 32000 miles . They tried to charge us all three times but after threatening to call a tv station they relented and replaced them. A mechanic who felt sorry for us said this was a massive problem and Nissan has not issued any orders to dealers. He indicated that the entire brake set up are to small for the very large Titan truck. A look on the internet under complaints will bear out the size of the problem. Help help help!
Tl contact owns a 2007 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that while driving 30 MPH the vehicle became difficult to stop due to the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal being too close to each other. The dealer stated that there was nothing they could do. The contact stated the manufacturer should design a brake override system to prevent a crash if the brake and accelerator pedal are engaged at the same time. The contact stated a crash could occur if the contact had to apply extreme pressure to the brakes and accidentally hit the accelerator pedal. The failure mileage was 25,000.
