What owners report

I have had the car back to the dealer on 4 different times, they claim to have fixed the airbag, but after the fix my light continues to be on intermittently even when an adult is in the passenger seat. I was told by the dealership that Nissan said the airbag would deploy even though the light wasn't working. I feel that Nissan is not honoring their warranty, I bought a new car and the light isn't working and I can't be sure the airbag is working either. I have also had problems with the electronic key, I was given a new battery in my fob but I still continue to get a no key detected at different times even when the car was running the dash will all of a sudden say no key detected. My last problem is with the car rolling back on a hill, I purchased an automatic, when stopped on a hill I have to gun the accelerator to stop the car from rolling back on the car behind me. …

My check engine light would come on and off along with the gas gauge going crazy from empty to full. They replaced sensor after having to beg (cost would have been 700 dollars). This was just out of warranty. At about 50,000 miles my check engine light was on and they said they needed to replace a fuel sending sensor which cost me 300 dollars when it was in for that I needed both u joints replaced because the steering wheel and car wobbled horribly when hitting about 50 miles an hour. This wobble was horrible and thought it was the tires.. Then had to replace two u joints ( second time since owning this 2006 Pathfinder).. I wish Nissan would step to the plate and recall the sensors and u joints.. Its like everything happens just miles out of warranty. Probably last Nissan I will buy because of all the problems.

Service engine soon light popped on. Read owners manual. Advised to open and re-close gas cap. Did that. Light did not go out. December 10, gas gauge indicated empty. Dte light appeared ------. Filled up. Gas gauge didn't move. Then, December 12, 2008 gas gauge suddenly rose to a little over half tank. Dte odometer display shows 78 miles to empty with over half tank. Looked up problem online. Hundreds of people with same problem in pathfinders and x-terras. No warranty coverage. I have extended warranty. My 2006 Pathfinder has 71K on it. Nissan says $600 to repair. Seems like this is a product/manufacturing defect.

8-9-2010 I began having difficulty getting my car to shift into reverse. Within 2 weeks, while driving down a crowded highway, my car wouldn't shift from 3rd to 4th, and I could smell something burning. When I finally found a spot to pull over and park, a large puddle of fluid leaked all over the ground. I was alone, in an area I didn't know, and nearly got rear-ended several times when it wouldn't shift gears. I took it to several shops, and the transmissions was ruined. It would have to be rebuilt or replaced, both totaling thousands of $ I don't have. I borrowed money to have it rebuilt. Within 2 weeks, I started having the same issues. When I took it back to the shop, the technician said radiator coolant had leaked into the transmission and it would have to be rebuilt or replaced again. After looking online, I see hundreds of complaints for the exact same issue. …

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder. The vehicle was purchased on 4/11/05. The seat belt failure began on 2/1/07 at 32,000 miles. When the driver side seat belt was not latched and the brakes were applied the warning seat belt light came on, but there was no warning sound to alert the driver that the seat belt wasn't locked. On 2/3/07, there were additional repairs to the seat belt system. However ,the failure recurred. The dealer ordered the body control module, and was currently talking to Nissan to diagnose the failure. On 2/4/07, the contact advised the dealer that the heater vent control motor that adjusts the vents was constantly on blower mode. The heater vent control would not change to the defrost position when selected. The dealer repaired the vent modulator motor ,and the heater failure was resolved. …
