On 2/3/2023 while driving, there was a loud explosion sound in the vehicle. We immediately pulled over to try to determine the source of the sound as there were no vehicles around us, nothing near us, or over us. We opened the sunroof cover and discovered the glass had shattered. We closed the cover, exited the vehicle to look at the sunroof from the outside. We immediately called the dealership as we just purchased this vehicle used on 1/19/2023. Two weeks owning the vehicle and the sunroof explodes. We are waiting on a call back from the dealer to determine our next steps. This is definitely a safety issue as the noise could cause an accident and if the sunroof cover had been opened, the shattered glass would have been all over our family.
My vehicle is a 2017 Lincoln Navigator. The Backup Camera works maybe 50% of the times that I attempt to back up. I understand that Lincoln has a recall on other Lincoln vehicles for this issue, but not for the Navigator. The Cross Traffic Alert does not work. In combination, attempting to back up has a real potential for a vehicle crash or pedestrian injury, especially in parking lots, for drivers of the Lincoln Navigator. Thank you.

The contact expressed dissatisfaction with the recall remedy, stating that she believed simply disconnecting the LED light wires did not constitute a repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed the recall remedy. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

The vehicle was later towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V648000 (Visibility, Electrical System).
