I purchased a 2000 Lincoln Navigator from laurel-Ford dealer in mississippi on August 21, 2003. After asking the dealership if all necessary maintenances were done on vehicle my family and I left for new york. I still had the original mfr warranties and I purchased an extended warranty plan. While traveling on the interstate on August 25th the brake lights came on and suddenly the left rear tire exploded. My family and I feared for our lives. It turned out that the brakes were faulty, no emergency brakes, no stablizer, heavily rusty links, and etc. The tow truck had to tow us twice. After ariving in new york, a dealer, told me that the vehicle was never serviced. They explained in detialed in wrting. We could have been killed. I was on vaction with my twin boys and wife. I very angried with the laurel-Ford dealership in ms and its owners. …
I experienced a continental tire tread separation while driving on the freeway at about 65 MPH today. The tire tread caused considerable damage to the side fender/bumper and side step panel after the tread separation. The car is a 2000 Lincoln Navigator id # [redacted] which I just purchased on July 6, 2003. The tire was a continental SUV p265/70r17 113s that appears to be the replacement tire for a continental tire recall in August 2002 (NHTSA campaign id number: 02t012000) dealing with the contitrac aw and grabber aw tires size p275/60r17 for use as original equipment on certain 2000-2001 by two-wheel-drive Ford expedition and two-wheel-drive Lincoln Navigator sport utility vehicles. The spare tire that was then put on the car looks to be the original equipment spare tire. It is a continental aw tire, p275/60r17 100s that appears to be the tire that was covered under the recall. …

2000 Lincoln Navigator, radio flashes on and off with vehicle off, and windshield wipers are not working, after vehicle has been sitting off for a couple hours, there is a loud noise coming from under the hood on the passenger side under the windshield, open the vehicle door and A/C is blowing full blast and radio is flashing on and off again smells like something is burning and caused a minor fire. Looked up recall information and Ford states that our vehicle is not listed under the recall# 01s24, although it shows our model year along with a majority of Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles. This is the same problem that happened with the 2000 Ford expedition NHTSA action# ea05015.
Transmission & drivetrain
The car was parked in our driveway. Several minutes later it rolled out of park unoccupied down our driveway accross the street into our neighbors house. Ford denies anything. We have a police report and video showing the car in park under a pile of rubble. Please help.
I am the owner of a 2000 Navigator. I bought it from a private owner about a year and a half ago. When go to change gears, the vehicle sometimes won't go into gear or if I put it in park, it sometimes won't go. Then I tried to use my emergency brake when parking, which is what I had to resort to due to the vehicle not staying in gear, it also would not work. I went to get my vehicle safety inspection and of course it did not pass. So that prompted my online research as to how to fix the problem. Then I came across the recall in formation for this vehicle and similar models and I see that some recalls were made, but not for my vehicle's year. I was wondering if my vehicle's year model should be included in some of the other recalls because I have the exact same problem but my vehicle is a 2000 and the recall was for a 1998 and so on. Thank you.
