My wife was slowly pulling into a parking spot, when at about 10ft from curb the car suddenly accelerated faster than she even thought the car even was capable of (the AWD likely helped). It hopped the curb and hit a tree. She backed it up to the parking spot (it acted normally) and had it towed to dealer. In hindsight, the car had been having a progressive amount and frequency of delay in normal acceleration, sometimes having a pause of up to second or two from pedal input to car response. We asked the dealer to check the EDR (event data recorder). The tech first said he didn't even know what that was, then that he checked with all his fellow techs and they didn't know either, then the story changed to the model not having an EDR. We politely told him which page in the Hyundai manual he can find it, and he refused to look, as did his boss. …
The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that before the vehicle stalled, there were several unknown warning lights illuminated before the instrument cluster went black. The contact pulled over and shifted to park(P) and was able to restart the vehicle after several attempts. The contact stated that the failure had occurred intermittently and at various speeds. The vehicle also occurred while stopped at a traffic signal. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 18,000.
The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the horn was inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the horn needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact related the failure to TSB: 23-BE-008H (Horn Assembly); however, the VIN was not included in the TSB. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 68,412.
I'd like to file a complaint regarding Hyundai Recall#290, a potential fire hazard with my cars "trailer wiring harness accessory module", which Hyundai has not offered a remedy at this time. I spoke to Hyundai's customer service representative yesterday (3/18/26) about this recall that's now over a month old, and asked if I could get reimbursed for my out of pocket costs to remove the hitch's wiring at a Hyundai dealership. The rep said Hyundai won't pay for my out of pocket cost to remove the harness wiring because they don't have an official "remedy" yet. My local Hyundai dealership said the cost to unplug/remove the wiring would be about $200, which in my opinion would solve the problem and certainly is a "remedy". Hyundai refuses to reimburse me this cost even though they have a Hyundai recall reimbursement program for out of pocket expenses due to recall issues. …
While operating the vehicle, an intermittent audible warning sound occurs without any corresponding alert, message, or notification displayed on the dashboard or infotainment screen. The specific component or system causing the warning is unknown. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This condition puts my safety at risk because the unexplained warning sound occurs while driving and causes me to divert my attention from the road in an attempt to identify the source or meaning of the alert, creating a driver distraction. The issue has been reproduced multiple times under normal driving conditions. I demonstrated the condition to the dealership and provided video evidence; however, the issue has not been diagnosed or confirmed, and no root cause has been identified. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership, but no explanation or resolution has been provided. …
The air conditioning system in my 2024 Hyundai Tucson has never adequately cooled the cabin during high outdoor temperatures, since I purchased the vehicle. The vehicle is parked outdoors in direct sunlight daily, as I have no garage or carport access, and the issue is most severe and consistent during hot weather. This creates a heat exposure risk while driving, particularly on hot days when cabin temperatures remain uncomfortably high despite the AC running and set to the coldest setting. Prolonged exposure to excessive cabin heat can pose a safety risk, including impaired driver alertness and general heat-related discomfort/health risk. I brought the vehicle to CMA's Hyundai of Lynchburg on July 9, 2025 to report this issue; the dealership found no fault and stated the AC was working correctly. …
I was notified about a recall for the tow hitch wiring harness. I took it to the dealer to have it repaired. Instead of repairing it, they just removed the wiring harness from the vehicle. When I asked them when the actual repair would be completed they said they had no idea. The service manager at the Hyundai dealership told me that some of his customers were mad about not having a safe and working tow hitch package that they had paid for, after they removed the wiring harness, that they were taking their cars to U-Haul dealers to have tow hitch wiring harnesses installed. He also told me to call the Hyundai customer service hotline which I did. The hotline told me that they could not even tell me if they were even working on a permanent repair for my car. The recall for my car now states "COMPLETED", which is totally wrong. …
On 7/29/2026, the vehicle experienced a critical safety failure involving the electronic transmission shift-by-wire system, resulting in an unintended rollaway after the ignition was turned off. While parked on an incline, the driver depressed the brake pedal and pressed the Engine Start/Stop button while the vehicle was still positioned in Drive (D). The engine shut off completely. According to factory safety design and vehicle specifications, cutting the ignition in this state is engineered to automatically trigger an electronic command to shift the transmission into Park (P). However, the vehicle failed to execute this electronic fail-safe. The electronic parking pawl did not engage, and the vehicle effectively defaulted into an un-geared Neutral state. …
Serious Safety Hazard: 2024 Hyundai Tucson Power Steering Failures I have had numerous power steering failures while this driving vehicle. During these incidents, the steering wheel is extremely difficult to turn. This is a serious safety hazard which could lead to a severe accident and loss of life. During each incident occurrence, I noted a red steering wheel with an exclamation point was displayed on the dashboard. The power steering function is restored once I have found a safe location to pull the car off the road and then I reset the car by switching it off completely and then starting it again. My local dealer has not been able to duplicate the problem nor determine the root cause. The dealership has escalated the issue to Hyundai America for technical assistance. I currently have an open case with Hyundai Motor America National Consumer Affairs. …
I have a 2024 Hyundai Tuscon SLE that I purchased new and several months ago there was a recall on the trailer hitch wiring. I took the car to Hyundai and they removed the wiring harness hitch due to a fire danager. Todate I have not received a replacement hiring harness, so my vehicle is now useless for pulling a trailer for several months. (The spring and summer months are when I use this the most and have not been able to.) All I hear from Hyundai is that they do not have a cure for this. I notice that the 2025 and 2026 models have a wiring harness on them that do not need replacing. I need something done ASAP regarding this matter. Why has NOTHING been done regarding this replacement? It has been MUCH TOO LONG! Is there ANYONE at your organization that can help me with this matter ASAP!!!! Thank you.
