On March 13, 2026, I was operating my 2015 Hyundai Tucson when the steering locked up, causing me to crash into a tree head-on. In the course of this head-on crash, my airbags failed to deploy. As a direct result of my airbags not deploying in a serious car crash, my head hit the steering wheel, causing a confirmed concussion diagnosis of Post Traumatic Headache and Post Concussion Syndrome in a hospital emergency room. There were no lights or symbols on the dashboard prior to the accident. My car had a prior repair for a front end collision in a body shop and a replacement of the engine in a Hyundai dealership prior to the accident. My car is currently in a tow yard. There has been no inspection of my car by the manufacturer. …
Vehicle was being driven and was alerted that smoke was emerging from the engine and then a pop was heard, car was pulled to the side and shut off. Opened hood and engine was on fire and wouldnt stop. Bystanders tried helping but fire couldnt be contained and the entire Tucson engulfed in flames. Hyundai claimed no recalls for that model and couldnt help in any way. Vehicle was completly factory with 0 aftermarket modifications. 2015 Hyundai Tucson.
Bought the vehicle as is with "1 owner, who was older" drove it off the lot and rest drove it, at 57,000 miles. Perfect...that was november 2023.. 3 days later my car was a little low on gas due to they didn't fill it and I left it be, started it drove about 15 miles and it starts sputtering and almost stalls out. Now here I am in June and beginning of June I hear ticking under hood, thinking it's my oil, I changed it (myself) and here it is 3 weeks later oil keeps burning hot, the oil.pressue light comes on when I brake and off when I give it gas, and I don't have any power what so ever when trying to accelerate and doesn't pick up speed unless I'm going downhill. I have 2 small children and a single mom working 5 days a week, I need this car to work. Please hellllpp me . We were going up a hill and I almost got rear ended because my car didn't have power. …
On date of incident, I had accelerated to enter onto the Major Deegan Expressway in Bronx,NY and made my way into the left lane when I felt the vehicle hesitate a second and downshifted in speed with some of the dashboard lights turning on. I was able to safely get to the emergency shoulder where the vehicle stopped and would not start again thought it had power. I was towed off the highway some hours later. The vehicle was towed to Central Avenue Hyundai in Hartsdale,NY for service on September 7, 2021 under my Hyundai warranty plan. A few days later I was advised by Ryan of the service area that the engine was the problem and needed to be replaced. Currently awaiting approval from warranty for that work to take place.
My car has been subject to safety recall for its anit-lock break system module system since February 2022. It is now the middle of May, 2022. Hyundai, in the Sacramento area of California, says they do not have parts in stock for performing the mandated recall and will not call me back or give me any estimate for when I can have the part. The Hyundai of America representitive just told me I could keep calling, putting the burden on me, and not assisting me further in terms of becoming part of a list of people that still need the recall done, etc.. The notice says my car's engine compartment might catch on fire while parked or driving without this recall. That's pretty ridiculous and unsafe. They need to provide a remedy.
There is an open safety recall on my vehicle, which has been in place since February 2, 2022. At this time, Hyundai has advised that they have no remedy and don't know when they WILL have one. Since this defect poses a potential fire threat, they advise to "park outside away from structures". I feel that 4 months is more than long enough for them to have a remedy in place. Parking my vehicle outdoors, far from structures, indefinitely is unreasonable. What recourse do we as consumers have against this? Is there anything I that can be done to fix this from your side? I was previously a very satisfied Hyundai owner, but after this I no longer have confidence in them and will no longer do business with them.
Dear DOT Complaints, My Hyundai Tucson has a recall and it has been months for Hyundai to find a solution to the problem. Vin no.[VIN]. I am worried my car may catch fire and would like you to expedite the recall and have this issue resolved. It is very worrisome that the manufacturer is being negligent with a defective automobile on the road and should replace it with a safe vehicle at no extra charge or quickly remedy this situation. I await your answer. How can you allow such a dangerous repair recall exist with no remedy in sight?
It has been OVER 6 MONTHS since there has been a recall on my vehicle (Hyundai Recall 218 / NHTSA Recall 22V-056). It is a MAJOR safety hazard which could cause an engine fire while parked or driving and there is no remedy as of today, Aug. 7th. This needs to be addressed asap. NHTSA might also want to check their numbers/email. The number provided on the safety recall docs automatically hangs up on me when I try to call NHTSA @ [phone], and the email address provided (https://www.safecar.gov) says site can not be reached.
I bought My SUV on January 14th 2022, and it presented a recall problem on February 05th, 2022. On the way from Bethlehem to New York, my daughter was driving the vehicle, when it slowed down in the middle of the highway, put my daughter live in risks and it did not accelerate and she moved to the edge and called 911. I called the AUTOProved staff, the dealership I unfortunately bought my SUV from, immediately when my car broke down. On February 23rd the warranty company sent me a tow truck, which picked the vehicle to the dealer's shop from my house, and the Dealer's staff have been providing misleading information to me ever since. …
The car was parked in the driveway Friday 11/23/2018 at about 3:30 pm. The next day, sat, 11/24/2018 about 12:45, a boy banged on the front door of the house and told wife the car was on fire. She came and got me from the back yard and I ran around to the driveway. I seen flames around the driver's side rear quarter, the wheel well, and the gas cap. I grabbed a fire extinguisher from the garage and sprayed it at the gas cap area. The wife said the fire department was on their way. I used the extinguisher and the wife brought me another one. I used them to try and keep the gas cap cool. The fire department came and I moved my truck from parked next to the Tucson to across the street and out of the way of the fire department.the car had not been started or even unlocked since it was parked the day before.
