The driver-side rear roof rail housing/bracket on my 2026 Honda Passport is loose. The affected section is exposed to wind while the vehicle is moving. The roof rail component has already been replaced once, but the replacement component is noticeably looser and appears to fit worse than the original component that was previously installed. The issue has therefore persisted despite a replacement, and the condition of the replacement is worse than that of the original part. I am concerned that the loose roof rail housing or bracket may become progressively dislodged under repeated wind exposure and vehicle vibration. If the component detaches while driving, it could create a road hazard or pose a risk to other motorists. …
Purchased vehicle November 27th, 2025 took car to the carwash after owning a few months and noticed after the car wash the paint was chipping. Took to dealership was told "oh those are door dings or something to that effect", filed with Honda was told basically the same thing. So, started doing research and came across the NHTSA website to file a complaint as well as the NCDS Informal Dispute Settlement Program. I have never had a new car or even a used car have the paint chip off when using a car wash. In doing my research it appears this particular make and model with the orange paint is a known issue. I didn't pay the price for this car to be unable to keep it clean. I am also filing a complaint with the state attorney generals office, this car is still under warranty.
I have has consistent problems with the braking system. It will brake and/or show the warning when nothing is there. The jerking of this has caused me to get in an accident June 2020 while moving to a new duty station. It was raining and there were no other cars on this highway thankfully. It was scary and I was even going below the speed limit. This caused my car to become nearly uncontrollable. My children and I were fortunately unharmed, but pretty shaken up. I had everything repaired and the same thing still happens to this day. That was only about 3 months after I purchased my car. I hear a lot of rattling as if something has come undone inside. Many times when I am driving I can feel the car jerk to a certain side or forward. That issue almost caused another accident in Feb 2021. I was backing out of a parking spot with plenty of room between myself and the other cars. …
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Passport. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V365000 (Structure, Suspension). After retrieving the vehicle, while driving 60 MPH, there was an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle. While depressing the brake pedal the contact heard a sliding sound coming from the rear end of the vehicle. The dealer stated that the sound might be coming from the heat shield. The mechanic determined that the screws were loose and the rear assembly might detach. The mechanic tightened the bolts and contacted the manufacturer for authorization. The mechanic stated that the vehicle was unsafe to drive as is and the vehicle was repaired. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the dealer confirmed that the part was properly tightened and the vehicle was safe to drive. …
I purchased a 2002 Honda Passport used, I recently heard a noise under the car and when checked part of the frame was broken. I looked online and found a recall, never notified about it. I called a dealer and waited 5 days and called them again and they set up an appointment for me. I took the vehicle in and was told that it is unsafe to drive and they will not release it to me. They said that is not the tracking link that is the problem, it is the frame. This vehicle should be recalled for the frame rotting not just the tracking links. Honda is very unprofessional and this is a serious problem.

On June 18, 2015, while on the brake and stopping behind a vehicle at an intersection (moving at a crawl speed, less than 0.5 MPH), my Honda Passport lunged forward hitting the car in front of me. The car was contained the driver and a passenger. Believing at that time my brakes just failed (I couldn't grasp how acceleration and forward movement could occur when I was firmly on my brakes), I had my brake booster and master cylinder replaced. On June 29, 2015 in a parking space, while I was at a crawl speed (less than 0.5 MPH) and on the brakes, the vehicle lunged forward again, going to the next parking space and hitting a parked car. The vehicle engine surged as though I was on the accelerator, and my foot was only on the brake. Thank goodness nobody was in the parked vehicle, nobody was between the two vehicles, and only body damage resulted from this dangerous situation.
