What 1995 Honda Passport owners say

Engine & cooling

Engine clicking sound has been increasing; otherwise, my 1995 Honda Passport dx runs well. Two mechanics have suggested the lifter bars are the problem. Others have reported this on other passports of the same year. These lifters seem to fail in other passports (http://www.mycarstats.com/console.asp?tb=r&mmmakes=Honda&mmmodels=Passport&year=1995#reportconsole); repair costs nearly as much as the car is worth! The use of faulty parts that have limited life expectancy was not communicated to consumers.

Tl contact owns a 1995 Honda Passport. The mechanic found a pen hole crack in the radiator and made the repair. When the contact activated the air conditioner, all of the antifreeze seeped through the pen hole crack and onto the engine. Currently, the engine is vibrating and shaking and the vehicle is burning fuel. The current and failure mileages were 186,667. Updated 09/18/07

Went to dealer today for a recalled. Problem on regulator and they valley Honda in aurora il. Checked out the whole vehicle and came to. Me stating it is unsafe to drive for frame is rusted all the way thru. I have small children that I have been driving in this vehicle. It is the only vehicle we have to get to our jobs, doctor appts., anything with this being a known problem for years it should have been a recall issue along with safety. Manufacturer should be held responsible to.help get us into a safe vehicle now. I bought a Honda for they are suppose to be safe and built well.

Transmission & drivetrain

Honda suddenly accelerated causing an increase over the MPH speed limit. Sometimes past problems of coming to a dead stop and locking the steering wheel. Multiple gauge problems intermittently.

143,000 miles · May 2010

When I was driving it to work, it began to pull back as if I had the e-brake on, which I did not. I took it into be looked at and they said the transmission needed to be replaced. The mileage is so low that I dont understand why it needs to be replaced, that the transmission oil was dark & burnt. We have had the car only 2months so how could that be our fault if the dealership did their safety check properly on the car. This is a defect on the part of the dealer we purchased it at (star Ford) as is the fault of the Honda dealer.
