My low beam headlights stopped working. My high beam headlights continue to operate. I contacted a dealership. They told me I would have to pay a diagnostic fee so I contacted corporate Honda. They said that this recall was fixed and closed but recalls do not expire and that if it was happening again, they would need to fix it. I took my car in today to be diagnostically Reviewed. the dealership told me the cause of the issue was a random ground wire they found, causing the exact part and symptoms of the safety recall to quit working. They said they would not be able to fix it unless they replace the whole harness in the steering column that the part was discontinued. I asked for a detailed explanation of the diagnostic. The explanation further proves that the issue is verbatim the safety recall. …
Headlights and taillights have gone out. Replaced bulbs and fuses. Brakelights and highbeams still functional Faulty relay most likely as a similar problem was already found on the 2002 Honda civic.
Honda has recognized a problem with the headlight wiring harness/switch corroding or melting causing the head lights to turn off intermittently or not come on at all. They have sent a recall for certain vins for this model year, but not for all 2007-2008 fits. This issue has occurred with my vehicle at only 75,000 miles while driving at night. Honda is aware of this problem but is not remedying the situation on all 2007-2008 fits, only specific vins. This is a dangerous practice, driving with no headlights is extremely dangerous at night. I have contacted Honda but they will not fix the issue because they claim the vehicle is out of warranty. These vins should be covered by the same recall for the other 2007-08 vins.
The low-beam lights on my Honda Fit 2007 are not working properly. At times they will work but more often then not, the lights will not work. The high-beam lights always work but the low-beams do not. I looked online for a recall using my VIN but there was nothing for this problem. After doing research online I realized that many 2007 Honda fits have been recalled for this exact problem but for some reason my car was not. It apparently has to do with the wiring/connector for the headlight. If this is a problem that 143,083 Honda fits in the us were recalled, why was my car not? Here is a link to an article about the recall http://money.cnn.com/2010/12/16/autos/honda_recall/ thank you
