Mileage when the problem started
Owner reports

The 2022 Honda Civic (Sport) with approx. 13,000 miles had been driving fine for the previous 10 minutes, on and off the highway, when I was almost home and on a more residential 25-30mph road. All of a sudden all of the warning lights went off on the dashboard at once, so I went to brake to slow down and pull over. But the brakes were completely failing - the pedal would just hit the back of the foot well. The emergency brake is electronic, so that wouldn't work either. I was lucky to be immediately next to a grocery store parking lot, so I roll into that. As soon as I make the turn flames began shooting out from under the hood, reaching maybe 6" up the windshield. This is only 5 or 6 seconds after the warning lights had started, and it was clear that the fire inside of the engine bay was substantial. …
The steering wheel locking up during driving randomly without warning this cause me to crash into the sidewalk during my right turn damaging my right side lower bumper and front wheel cracked so I already replaced the wheel with a new refinished one. This issue is a non stop problem I would really appreciate if HONDA reconsider all trim not just Sport and Touring as my car is an EX-L model which I paid for Touring price so I want to be help too. I already took it to the dealership and they didn't fix it and just joy ride my car caught it on dash cam even the sound of the wheel locking up too. GOUDY HONDA ALHAMBRA inspected my car. This was an on going issue since I test drove the car and I call it out and the salemen told me its normal which I knew it isn't, but I waited 3 month for this pre-order car so I'm not going to not take it. …
On Friday January 27th, I was driving approximately 65mph when the steering wheel got stuck to the right, causing me to run off the road. I hit a rut where the road meets the grass and it caused a couple of my wheel weights to fall off. Initially the lane keep was on, but I turned it off as it started pulling to the right. The car still proceeded to pull continuously until I cut it off, and then started to appear to work normally for a short period afterwards. The steering wheel already sticks in the center on most days. Now, there's issues stopping, I'm guessing from the rut I hit. The dealer that I bought it from swears that there's nothing wrong with the vehicle and that I'm just a difficult customer. I've already had it up to the dealership 5 times. There's 88 other people already who agree with me. …
The contact owns a 2022 Honda Civic. The contact stated while driving approximately 20 MPH, the Forward Collision Avoidance; Emergency Automatic Braking activated inadvertently without a vehicle being nearby. The contact stated that the brake pads made a loud grinding sound. The brake warning light and alarm was activated. The vehicle had not been taken to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 27,000.
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) has been randomly shutting off out of nowhere during my drive. This has been happening off and on for two months and is NOT happening due to the reasons it could happen in the owners manual. It will not turn back on unless I pull over and shut off the car or place the transmission into park which forces me to leave a highway. Today without ACC even on I get 5 warnings including collision mitigation brake system failure and to see a dealer (pictures attached for all 5 warnings that came on the dashboard today). I saw Rudolph Honda in El Paso TX today and the service center lady told me she is aware of this problem and already tried to diagnose another 2022 Civic with no luck and there are no rentals to help me leave my car for further diagnostics and i cannot be seen for a week at Borman Honda in Las Cruces NM nearby where I live. …
2 Issues. 1) Only a few weeks after purchase there were defective stabilizer link bushings. They removed them and gave the car back to me while they waited for the part to come in. This part did not come in for several months maybe even a year so I was driving with defective suspension that entire time. The part came in and the vehicle was fixed. That was the first safety issue. 2) A brake light came on stating performance issues and I needed to take it to the dealer. I found out there is a bulletin about this problem and Honda is investigating. This problem effects the brakes so that's a very serious safety issue. The vehicle isn't even 4 years old and the problem started about 3 months after purchase so this is another safety issue I have been driving with. It started as intermittent and the dealer said it did not store a code. Until recently. …
The vehicle will randomly say these warnings: Brake system problem. Brake performance may be reduced. See your dealer. Brake hold system problem. Apply brake when stopped. See your dealer. Anti-lock brake system problem. Brake performance may be reduced. See your dealer. Vehicle stability system assist problem. Reduced traction and handling. See your dealer. Electric parking brake system problem. Parking brake not available. See your dealer. I have shut the vehicle down and checked the VSA with no leaks and full fluid in reservoir. I checked the harness and the wires are great. I checked the the brake unit to make sure they were not loose. I also checked the parking button and observed it to be clean from debris. This is happening to multiple people with the new Honda Civics and has now became a safety as it will make the vehicle brake slower and not be available for forward collision. …
There is a loud grinding/ squealing noise whenever I press the break pedal. I went to have it check at Big O tires and the guy checked my breaks and tires and said they were at 100 percent however the sound is coming from a defeat somewhere with the break pedal and the stopping mechanism. He added grease to it to see if it would help but it has not. Also The Steering wheel recall that they just did has not fixed the steering wheel from sticking while driving and I am wondering if it is all connected to the issues I am having. I honestly feel like I have a been sold a defective vehicle as my door actuator stopped working as well as the blower motor for my AC works intermittently and we just don't feel safe driving this car anymore when we purchased it brand new not even 2 years ago but they have told me it is no longer under warranty
I was driving at 75MPH in Adaptive Cruise Control. The closest car in front or beside me was at least 1/4 mile away. The weather was perfect, no rain, wind, etc. Just sunshine. Without Notice, the car automatically braked, the BRAKE light showed up in the dash. The braking period lasted about two seconds during which time inertia slammed me forward. Fortunately there were no cars immediately in back of me or I no doubt probably would have been rear-ended. I did not step on the brake pedal or the gas pedal during this period. My vehicle is scheduled to be at the Dealers Service Center in 6 days but with all the intermittent issues I am having with this vehicle, I am sure they will say they cannot replicate the problem. My assumption is that the forward collision system intermittently axctivated.
Twice while using the Adaptive cruise control on the interstate my vehicle gave me a "BRAKE" warning and automatically applied hard braking on my vehicle even though this was at 0430 in the morning and no cars present on the interstate. I too pressed the brake and cancel on the steering wheel to try and disengage the Adaptive cruise control, so I could regain control of my vehicle. The first time it happened, it caught me off guard. The second time it happened, I was waiting for it. I drove with my hand able to disengage cruise control as soon as it would happen. This was an attempt to verify if the first time was a fluke or if there was a real problem. I have not used my cruise control since because I cannot trust it. Luckily these were when the traffic was light on the interstate and it did not cause a wreck.
