Was driving down a busy road with my [redacted] and [redacted] , when all of a sudden my steering wheel got super tight and the car shut down. A message stating "power steering assist fault" popped up on my dashboard. There was ZERO warning before it happened. I just bought this car 3 months ago from a facebook marketplace car dealer. When this incident happened 2 weeks ago, I googled 2011 ford fusion recalls and it says NHTSA recalled in 2015. When I'm not understanding is why a VIN number makes a difference, when I'm having the problem on the type of year/model that was recalled. I have been informed about the customer satisfaction program, which expired years before I purchased the vehicle. Again, why should that fall on me? Thanks

I have owned car for almost 4 + years I was roughly at 128,000 when I purchase I gave 159,xxx miles on now. In the past 4 years tires replaced 2 times. I keep having issues with tires needing plugged in front. My brakes have been replaced 3 times rotors 2 times plus struts ball joints tie rod u name it repaired suspension system sucks. I'm sick of having same issues repair. I have thousands of dollars front suspension then always have to fix tires stop for air replace. Ridiculous. Everything has gone wrong with the suspension system. Shocks bad ball bearings. The premium aluminum rims eroding away. I think that is what cause tire issues non stop I'm sick of getting air!!! …
Two issues: while driving error message maintenance power steering now came on. Automatic steering went. Twice again after the mechanic reset it. Extremely difficult to turn. Could be extremely dangerous. I took the car to the local dealer, (walker Ford, clearwater, fl) and although there is a recall it doesn't apply to my vehicle. Very expensive to fix, in the $2000 range. The other problem which is the first reason we went to the mechanic. The front end has been making noises, creaking and crunching when making turns or cold. That issue needs control arm replaced which is connected to the subframe very costly. I have seen both these issued addressed in numerous complaints online. Front suspension control arm problem of the 2012 Ford Fusion 2 failure date: 03/02/2019 this below is what happened in detail. …
I pulled in my driveway, parked 2011 Ford Fusion and then shut vehicle off. I returned, started vehicle, went to start driving my vehicle out of driveway and the car started beeping and listed that the power steering did not work. I looked it up online and there was a recall for steering: electric power assist system failure (15V340000 or 15s18). I took to dealership and will attach quote which their recommendation is exactly what Ford's recommendation was. However my car doesn't fall into the correct date for this recall, I am happy that I was not driving 75mph down insterstate 70 in wheeling, wv or driving up to west liberty, wv where I work. Either could have resulted in a horrible accident for me, my kids and potentially other vehicles involved. The car has only 73,000 miles on it roughly and is in excellent condition.

The vehicle has started making very loud creaking noises when going over a bump or when turning the steering wheel, typically heard more when at lower speeds. The dealer indicated it's the lower control arm is safe for now; however, was recalled on the 2013-2014 fusions. In addition, my door handle/latch also stopped working today while stationary. The door is not latching properly. This recall also affected the 2013-2014 fusions, but not the 2011.
