Tl contact owns a 1999 Ford f250. While driving above 30 MPH, the vehicle pulled to the left and right. The wheel bearings wore through the driver side 4 wheel axle. The 4 wheel axle needs to be replaced. The wheel bearing hubs were replaced four times. The failure mileage was 189,000 and current mileage was 196,000.
The vehicle pulled to the left and the right, the tire were cupping on the edges, the cloth seat were wearing, the radius arms were loose, the lights were inoerative, there was a squeak in the cowel, the engine experienced gasket and seal problems, however once the engine was replaced, it burned oil fast.
The right and left ball joints began freezing last summer. The vehicle began to wander and it became increasingly difficult to keep it in my lane of traffic. The problem came on slowly but was first noted by me last summer. This summer it got to the point that it was unsafe to drive because attempting to get the wheels to move slightly resulted in too much movement leading to constant attempts to correct the over-correction. The dealer readily diagnosed the problem as frozen ball joints and required that I pay for the repairs despite the fact that the problem began well before the warranty expired. A dealership employee informed me that they were replacing many of these parts under warranty due to premature failure. The original part did not have any provision to lubricate the joint. The replacement part has a fitting to lubricate it. …
Stopped at a traffic light and when light turned green, pressed gas pedal but truck would not move. Waited a few minutes and pressed pedal and truck went. Driving down highway, truck started coasting - engine was running but pressing the gas pedal gave no power. Finally got the truck to Ford service. Left the truck running and in park - the truck jumped into reverse. The truck lost power again while the Ford tech was test driving. They replaced the electronic gas pedal and the transmission. They took the truck on a test drive and noticed the rear end was grinding. They determined the carrier bearings had come apart. They have ordered a new rear end. The windshield washer fluid would not spray - they repaired some wiring to correct that problem. Ea04006 has ifs
99 Ford 250 super duty cannot adjust camber/caster without changing the bushings. The alignment computer shows "value is not within specification. Tire wear, handling and safety problems May result." Ford will not take care of this under warranty. This is not adjustable unless a kit is added at my expense. Ford claims it is a wear item and is not covered. If this piece wears out in 14,157 miles, Ford has a safety problem according to the computer. The truck has pulled to the right since it was new. Evidently they are aware of this problem. Since kits are available to correct the problem ( if caught within 12,500). They are shipped with non-adjustable kits, that are locked in and cannot be adjusted.
1999 Ford f-250 with transmission problems. Consumer had this problem repaired. She was then informed that there was a TSB that she never knew about. Ford is refusing to reimburse her for the repairs. The consumer stated the manufacturer was fully aware of the transmission problem, but failed to notify their customers. The problem was the fluid would overheat during severe duty and wear out the torque converter, which resulted in the radiator, cooler lines and hoses for the transmission to be replaced. The stabilizer bar link and battery were replaced.
Pe00020; tire tread separation: while driving about 75 MPH, about 90% of the tread on the driver's front side tire came off. Driver was able to control vehicle. 1999, Ford, f250. Tire size lt 265/75r16, dot # vnw81xl, original tire equipment. Tire mileage about 20,000. Owner tried to contact Firestone, but got the run around. Truck was registered to benito cantu. Report given by friend. The customer got new alulminium rim installed. The right front shock was leaking. Water was coming into air cleaner assembly.
When towing trailer and or when carrying weight in the rear of the box, upon hitting a large bump or a smaller roller type bump the truck swerves left and right and the steering seems to pull somewhat. The servicing local deler said there is technical service bulletin on this problem but not for the f-250, only for the f-350 and up . They said they can not order the parts to fix mine because Ford has not given approval for this. The technical service bulletin from Ford concerning this problem , I believe is tsb99-8-2.
There is a popping sound from right front side of vehicle. Consumer feels that there is something loose or it could be metal fatigue when backing up, going forward or when turning wheels. Does not occur during normal driving, only when just accelerating. Sound will occur approximately 4 or 5 times a day. Dealership cannot reproduce the sound, and cannot determine the defect.
Original bushings on fork were plastic. Ford has since changed these to another material. According to the dealers mechanic there have been several problems of this nature. I've contacted Ford motors and they have failed to return my calls. I've asked for financial reimbursment for this repair. Again no contact has been made. Can you help me get some results? Thanks.
