The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-250 equipped with Super Swamper Tires (Tire Size: 37/1250/r20LT and DOT Number: 3u5hp3lx4720). The contact stated that while driving 50 mph when suddenly the rear driver-side tire had blown. The contact had pulled over to the side of the road and placed the spare tire on the vehicle. The vehicle was then taken to a tire shop that replaced all the tires on the vehicle with the same brand and size tire, however, the DOT Number was different from the one replaced (3u5hp3lx3921). Death Wobble on numerous occasions. I first took it to Ford and put some "dampener" on it to fix it. I noticed that the truck still vibrated, but did not go into the death wobble immediately.4-5 months later, a worse death wobble started. It always happens when you hit a bridge abutment paving transition. The violent shaking does not stop until you slow way down. I have had to leave the road twice due to 18 wheelers behind me. It is so bad now, vehicles around me can see the violent shaking and move over and get away from me. This is an extremely dangerous event. If a younger driver freaks out and lets go of the steering wheel, deaths will be inevitable.

I experienced the "Death Wobble" for my first time today! Very scary! I had just reached 65 MPH and suddenly my 2017 F250 starting shaking violently. I had little to no control of steering. Fortunately, I had heard of it before from family and friends who also experienced it. I let off the accelerator and it ended as if nothing was wrong! My vehicle has slightly over 38K miles. There was no warning or messages. I am not aware of any road issues. I have talked with my Ford service department and they are ordered a damper kit. My vehicle is available for inspection.

Front wheels shake violently causing driver to have to brake hard and slow vehicle to regain control. Problem happens when vehicle is traveling at a speed of 50-60 mph and hits a rough spot on highway. Problem happens frequently and on several occasions has caused vehicle behind me to brake hard to avoid a rear end collision. The truck is not safe to drive.

I took the truck to the dealer after I noticed the TPMS was malfunctioning after about 4,000 miles and 3 months of operation. The TPMS originally showed a dramatic fault in one tire, but later showed faults in three. The readings changed continually from tire to tire and sometimes were as low as 40 psi in some tires. The dealer replaced 1 sensor but could not get the TPMS to calibrate. I returned the next day after the dealer obtained two more new sensors. After the two new sensors were installed in truck wheels, the TPMS still would not calibrate. The dealer installed a new sensor in the remaining wheel and was then able to calibrate the TPMS. The dealer believes that all four sensors failed after approximately 4000 miles and three months. …

I experienced what is considered the "death wobble" twice last week while traveling at around 70 MPH, both times it happened after crossing a bridge seam the truck became uncontrollable shaking violently , I thought my axle under the truck had broke , it was so violent I wasn't even thinking about the other drivers traveling at same speed as I had to slow to almost 20 MPH to get it to stop but I was able to get off to the side of the road once I could control the steering. So after checking to make sure all was good ,I was still on all fours and not ever hearing of anything like this "death wobble thing " assuming vdot needed to fix some pavement I continued and about three miles down the road the same thing happened after crossing a bridge over a bridge seam but this time I was in the passing lane and was right beside an eighteen wheeler .with vehicles on all three sides of me , no way …

I was traveling along I-40 going about 75 miles per hour around a slight curve to the left when I hit a small bump. The entire front end of my truck began to shake violently. The truck became very difficult to control as the steering wheel was ripped out of my hands. I pulled a muscle in my arm trying to regain control the first time it happened. The shaking went away as soon as I slowed down to about 68mph, and did not return as I accelerated further. This began happening on 11/12/2019 at approximately 38K miles. I own a 2017 Ford f250 that I bought new and now has approximately 30,000 miles. In August 2019 I was driving with my wife and two young children at approx 60mph on a two lane highway. Road conditions were dry and I hit a slight frost heave on a straight stretch of highway. All of a sudden the vehicle started shaking violently and I have very little control. I was able to slow the vehicle down to approx. 25mph before the shaking stopped. Luckily there was no oncoming traffic or it could have resulted in a catastrophic head on collision. I have never experienced such violent shaking from a vehicle, it felt as if all four wheels were held on by a single lug nut and I had very little control. I called the dealer immediately and they schedule me for repairs. I later researched the issue and realized that this issue has a name "death wobble" and that it is common in Ford trucks. …
