Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Ford Crown Victoria. The contact stated that the paint started chipping on the vehicle and the residue from the paint was affecting the visibility to view the road. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,000.
Steering effort is increasing. The steering column moves and clicks upon acceleration. Steering is increasing getting harder to control. Also have had the roof repainted by Ford while under manufacture warranty due to paint peeling in large sheets of roof, now the front hood has large peeling paint leaving the green coating showing. Ford will not cover now as out of warranty.
Paint peeled off roof and both "c" pillars. Ford has a TSB (09n02) but will not help Crown Victoria police interceptor owners who are not government agencies or cvpi's that are not in law enforcement/government service. Was forced to pay out-of pocket for repaint of effected areas. Now I noticed that paint is peeling off hood. I tried the dealer, who called Ford corporate and they told the dealership they could not help me because the vehicle is not in service and privately owned.
We have 21 2006 Ford police interceptor police cars. Everyone of them is experiencing paint cracks and or paint popping off the roof or quarter panels by the rear window. You can see the gray primer in the exposed areas where the white paint has popped off. Ford denies the problem. All of the vehicles in my police fleet have between 50,000 and 65,000 miles. We took delivery of all of these vehicles in January 2006.
Paint defect: bubbling and peeling. Paint applied without applying primer to adhere paint. The 2005 lx model was purchased in 2006. The vehicle stands currently at 71,000 miles. Structure paint begins to bubble and peel off. Vehicle has never been involved in any accidents and neither has it incurred any structural damages. Approximately 6 months ago there was a notice paint missing, the shape was round and dime size on the hood and roof of the vehicle. Further investigation indicated that the paint held no primer underneath it to adhere paint to the structure of the vehicle. When the vehicle was put on a freeway up to posted speeds of 65 MPH, the dime size round areas begin to shed more paint. This seems to be a factory blemish that needs to be addressed. …
Paint is bubbling and flaking off. Ford says not their responsibility, areas are from the size of a 1/8inch to a area 6 inches in somewhat of a circle... Since paint blew off and looks so bad I have tried a fix but paint does not want to adhere.... I see a TSB on this but Ford says it is not for my particular vehicle> wonder why TSB is about paint bubbling, but does not say a certain serial number...
Trunk lid torsion bar failed, fortunately after driver and passenger had just removed items from trunk. Due to the weight of the trunk lid on this vehicle, we would have been seriously injured if the trunk lid had fallen on us.
Traveling on pa turnpike, vehicle stopped moving. Called for tow to nearest Ford garage (haggerstown, md Ford) for repair. When vehicle was placed on lift rear tire fell off. The axel had broke at the tire. Vehicle had 100,048 miles. Vehicle has no rust or body issues. Vehicle is in very good shape. I feel this is a manufacture defect. I feel this could have caused a serious accident with injuries sustained.
