When filling gas at the pump, it shuts off constently. During this process, I am spilling gas on the ground while trying to deal with getting my tank filled. I had the gas fill line replacement done a few years ago and solved this very same problem, but the problem has returned. I have read in dodge forums of this happening to other owners and sounds like there may be an OEM solution to replace the gas fill line vent tube. I have checked with my dealer and OEM website, but there has not been anything done about this from the OEM.

This vehicle has given me many problems and most recently very dangerous ones. A few months ago on my way to work around 4 am the drive shaft broke off and flew out at 75 MPH. Luckily there wasn't much traffic during that time and the back part of the drive shaft is the one that broke off not the front so the truck didn't flip over. The truck has been repaired since then. Now a few days ago my pregnant wife was driving the truck and it turned off on her in the middle of an intersection while I was working out of town. On my return I found the electric throttle control light on at the dashboard. In doing some research I found that this is typically in relation to a bad fuel pump relay. I found this to be more than common on many Dodge vehicles and obviously a very dangerous problem to have. The fuel pump relay on my vehicle seems to be integrated into the TIPM and not serviceable. …

After I refuel, whether it's 10 gal. Or top it off, the truck will stall everytime as I drive just the first several miles(maybe as soon as 100 yards or up to 10-12 miles or so). It only happens when I come to a stop, like at a red light or at low speed making a turn. It always starts back up, not always easily though. Of course when this happens, power brakes and power steering is lost. This has put me in a couple of dangerous situations while making a turn and suddenly lose power steering. After it's stalled several (4-5) times, it seems to recover until I refuel again and we start all over. This is definitely a major safety issue and a recall needs to happen to finally fix this recurring problem that has been happening for some time now. I purchased this vehicle new and didn't have a problem for the first 40,000 or so miles. …

Just recently, my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab, 4x2 will stall right after filling the tank with fuel. Within the first mile this truck has stalled at least three times. Once enough fuel has been burnt, the truck will run fine until the next fill up and the condition returns. When this happens, steering and brakes are lost creating an extremely hazardous condition and could end in a collision. This also happens when making turns or maneuvering through traffic. I have read that several others have had this same thing happen with their trucks. I have been told that my truck needs a new fuel tank assembly since the defective part is not serviceable as it is plastic welded inside the fuel tank. …

Recently went over 100K miles and fuel tank is not filling properly, as it actually trips the pump every half gallon or so. After getting tank filled, truck stalls for about the first 15 miles. Truck has stalled at intersections, while driving at speed, coming to a stop, etc. After about 15 miles, stalling stops, but once again the truck will not take fuel properly. Called dealership and they want to replace fuel tank with an exact replica that still has not fixed the problem. According to local dealership and online research, problem is stated to be a stuck vent line valve internal to the gas tank. Almost $2,000 dollars wanted to replace this tank with another tank that has not been fixed. When truck does stall, loss of steering, brakes, etc. Until I drop it into neutral, start it again, and put back in drive while all the time trying to make sure I do not cause an accident.

Having issue with truck stalling out right after fueling vehicle. This happens with out any warning. Several times it has happened while turning, twice going down a hill and once so far while sitting at a stop sign. This happens once a week right after fueling up the vehicle. I have been researching this issue online and it seems that many owners have been experiencing this issue. Many have spent over $2000 dollars in repairs at the dealer and still have the issue. Many also report this problem of the engine cutting out while in heavy traffic and crossing traffic. Some have reported being on the highway and the engine cutting out at 70 MPH. This is becoming a major concern as I use this vehicle for towing my travel trailer with my family. This is a serious condition and from what I have read Dodge is not doing anything but charging people and not fixing the issue.

On more than 1 occasion, after filling the gasoline tank, the vehicle has stalled shortly after being filled. Yesterday, I filled the tank. Aware of this issue from past experience, I avoided "overfilling" it. Approximately 3 or 4 miles later, I made a righ turn at low speed to enter a parking lot and the vehicle stalled. I lost power steering and struggled to get it turned safely. At first it wouldn't crank, but eventually I did get the truck restarted. I conducted some business, then went back to the truck and started it to head home. Again as I was turning right to exit the parking lot, the vehicle stalled and I had to struggle to get it to restart. This is extremely dangerous and from internet research, I know others are experiencing the same thing.

When trying to fuel my vehicle at gas pump, gas began spewing and gurgling from the tank. I could get no more than around a gallon in the tank without it spewing gas back out all over my truck and the ground. I tried pumping slower, pulling nozzle in and out of tank, and waiting a while. I had no luck. I subsequently tried again two more times a week apart and still can't get gasoline into my vehicle without it spewing out. Upon reviewing this problem online I found a term used for this problem. "spitback." I also found that many Chrysler vehicles have had this problem. Also, it would appear that if it's a certain issue, the entire tank May need to be replaced for a simple little valve which is inaccessible otherwise.

Fuel tank inlet check valve has failed, not allowing fuel to enter gas tank during fill ups at gas station. Under a warranty extension (x49) vehicles between mdh #020108-063023 are accepted although the same part and issue is coming up on my vehicle with mdh # 110821 of the same model year. It is not covered under a very limited recall used to cover for a much larger problem concerning made vehicles manufactured under Chrysler. This is a much larger and widely reported problem than the manufacturer is representing due to the large recall and repair costs it would take on. The consumer must now replaced the whole fuel tank due to the fuel tank inlet valve being molded into the tank, which is extremely costly.
