Tl contact owns a 2001 Dodge Durango. The wiring harness that connects to the blower motor resister burned and no longer works. While driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle filled up with smoke and the contact smelled something burning. The wiring harness was replaced twice within two years. The dealer stated that the parts for the heater were unavailable and would possibly remain this way until January 16, 2009. The failure mileage was 133,000.
About 35,000 miles I had the adjusters repaired on the passenger front of vehicle. Around 60,000 miles the adjusters failed and the seat will jerk forward about an inch while doing any acceleration, then slide back about an inch. Somewhere around 70,000 miles the front drivers seat started rocking back and forth, like it was not bolted to the floor boards properly. I have power seats. I took my Durango in to have it looked at, at the dealership. I was told that they have seen a couple of vehicles with this same problem recently, and I was lucky mine would only cost 1,300 dollars to repair. Other bigger vehicles cost more. Is there a recall on this problem, and why is it happening so often in my vehicle, when it should not happen at all. Why so much money? Why is a safety factor not part of warranty. I have always had power seats, this is the first time they ever failed. …
The vehicle on this occasion started knocking and the check gauges light appeared. It stated I needed oil when I recently had an oil change. It then cut off. I took the vehicle to the dealer to find out that I needed a new engine supposedly due to sludge build up. I have had all oil changes and services performed. I even went as far as to have the 30,000 mile service done. Previous problems include replacement of an air bag, rear window problems, air conditioner not working, noises while in reverse when parking, all in all also getting stuck in 4-hi. All in all they told me they would not replace my engine even with my Chrysler warranty. The vehicle only has 42,000 miles. Also had new ignition switch installed due to speedometer failure.
2001 Dodge Durango. In 2007 my front driver's window went 1/2 way down and wouldn't go back up. I had to replace the regulator w/ the motor. At an expense of about $200. The mechanic says this is a huge problem he sees w/ this vehicle. In 2008 the same window is out again and so are my back two windows now. I can hear my front pass. Window doing the same so I have stopped using all windows. This is a costly thing replacing every window once a year. Why cant they make an effective part that if replaced will last. You shouldn't have to do this every year. Please check into this malfunction. I see Dodge durangos windows taped up all over town. Obviously other's are experiencing this same problem.
Tl contact owns a 2001 Dodge Durango. While driving 55 MPH, the contact attempted raise the front driver side window, but it jammed and fell back into the door. The window would not function afterwards. The same failure occurred on the front passenger side window and two rear windows. The manufacturer stated that this was a common failure. They further stated that the regulator needed to be replaced at the contact's expense. The contact placed screwdrivers in the windows to hold them up, and the vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000 and current mileage was 108,000. Updated 06/09/08
I have had my Dodge for three years and since then several things had to be replaced on it. I had to have my transmission rebuilt due to the coolant failure. The sensor stopped working and over heated the engine burnt up the transmission. The motor in the driver window burnt out and had to e replaced. The Dodge stop cranking so we had to replace the fuel pump. We are now having problems with the cooling fan on the engine that has burnt out as well. I am very displeased with my truck and will never buy another Dodge again. All these things happened in a year. Man I hate this truck.
Tl contact owns a 2001 Dodge Durango. While driving 50 MPH, the driver side front window would not roll up. The mechanic stated that the window was off track and he replaced the tracking. The failure has occurred three times. The contact stated that the driver side front seat would not lock when the vehicle stopped. The dealer stated that the driver's seat tracking failed. As of September 11, 2007, the dealer had not repaired the vehicle. The VIN, engine size, and number of cylinders were unavailable. The failure mileage was 100,000 and current mileage was 108,000.
Tl contact owns a 2001 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that there was an issue with her driver's side window. It would roll down, but not back up. The dealer replaced the driver's side window regulator in September of 2008 at the cost of $431.89. However, in December of 2008, the passenger and driver's side second row windows both experienced the same failures. She did not take the vehicle back to the dealer. The manufacturer has not been notified. The current mileage was 99,748 and failure mileage was 93,515.
For the (3) third time since we purchased this vehicle in 05/2002, the window regulator has failed. The window regulator is a big part that fits inside the door and makes the window go up and down. This is the third occasion when it has broken causing the window to slide down into the door. It costs approx. $250-$300 to get this repaired every time. We are not doing anything extraordinary to warrant this kind of defect in this part. Please investigate this problem asap!!!
Driving down the road and all of the sudden all lights interior and exterior are blinking off and on like in rapid succession. I have a seizure disorder and strobe/flickering lights are a trigger. This is extremely dangerous. Along with further investigation myself and my mechanic figured out it is the ctm which is not uncommon because there are hundreds of complaints about this and I've already dumped hundreds of dollars into this repair!
