Brakes
I am the owner of a Chevy tahoe model year 2000 VIN# [redacted] , on 11/08/05 about 6:30 pm I was driving this vehicle on route 4 nj. My brakes failed and I hit the bumper of the car before me, I had my car towed in to my mechanic and upon inspection he showed me that both brake rotors which had the inner ring welded to the outer ring had the weld broken away , so that the inner ring was just spinning inside the outer rotor structure, he explained to me that I should buy a rotor which is one piece therefore the inner print cant ever break away from the outer, my issue with GM is why do they have total disregard for the safety of the people and would use a composite rotor putting people in jeopardy with total disregard of human life, when I paid about $ 34,000 for my SUV and they try to save 10-20 dollars, I have in my possession the separated rotors ( if needed for inspection) to sum it …
Vehicle made noise when braking. Vehicle was taken to the repair shop, and mechanic replaced the speed sensor, and both front and rear brake pads/rotors, and the hardware kits. Also, rear axle seal was replaced. A week later ABS brake light came back on while driving, and the ABS motor kept on running, even after switching off the vehicle. Dealer and the manufacturer were not notified.* also, replaced front brake pads/calipers...also replaced rear axle seal.
