My vehicle will just start up sometimes on its own with or without key in ignition, as well as set alarm off. Also, it constantly feels like the brakes are on at all times. It feels like it drags alot. And it feels like it doesn't properly have enough power when accelerating.

Tl contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Soon after the vehicle was purchased on August 8, 2006, the steering wheel and the vehicle itself began to bounce and shake. When turning the wheel in either direction, the steering wheel feels as if it will detach. The more the vehicle is driven, the worse the failure becomes. On September 16, 2006, the vehicle was taken to the dealer. The dealer was unable to find any failure but stated that it was the characteristic of the vehicle. On June 6, 2006, while making a left turn, the steering wheel operated on its own and caused the vehicle to crash into a pole. The speed at the time of the crash was 5 MPH. The contact noticed that the tie rod in the front had detached. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The contact searched the internet for further research and discovered that the failure is a safety issue that needs some attention. …

I was driving my 2007 Chevrolet Silverado when the power steering, power brakes, dashboard gauges, electronic stability control, traction control stopped working simultaneously. There was a significant loss of power and the transmission shifted violently and the vehicle jerked. I was traveling in motion on a city street with traffic present while this occurred. This nearly caused an accident as I was barely able to steer the vehicle off the road.

My son was driving on the highway in texas when the engine shut down and the car stopped running. He lost all power steering and could barely get off the road in time. The car had to be towed to the nearest town in gainesville. The diagnosis was the sending unit failed and in turn caused damage to the fuel pump that made it inoperable. My concern is that there was no warning light or any kind of indication that this problem was about to occur. There was no way to prevent this. The fuel level read that there should have been 1/4 to 1/2 tank of gas but the mechanic measured 1/8 - 1/4. I'm not sure if the gas level attributed to the shut down or not. That is something that I'm sure will be factored in to your investigation. I feel like this was a definite opportunity for me to speak up and take action. …

Vehicle stabilitrack and traction control lights came on. Engine warning light came on. While attempting to turn the vehicle onto a highway acceleration ramp, the car steering wheel locked and the engine died. Could not unlock the power steering. I was towing a horse trailer well within the gross weight for the vehicle. I had a horse in the trailer at the time. I also had children in the car. After a few minutes, I was able to start the vehicle and pull into a safer area. I was not able to tow the trailer home but I was able to get the vehicle home. The car hesitated and chugged along surging into each gear. While at a stop the vehicle hesitated and the engine sputtered. I had to put the truck in neutral and put my foot on the accelerator so the car engine would not die. The transmission would surge each time I stepped on the gas. …

I bought a 2007 cherolet Silverado crew cab used (19,000 mi.) from maroone cheverolet. I noticed that the steering was shakey and there was a vibration. The salesman said that the truck had a full new car warranty and they would fix it. Note: they claimed to do a 117 point check to be GM certified! This truck shakes, wobbles and rattles from driving from normal to a little bump in the road. Transmission was klunking between gears, it is better, but not normal. The gas millage does not come close to the advertise sticker on window of 16 - 21 mpg. I am only getting 12 mpg in town and 17 mpg on the highway. About 75% of what was expected. The dealer claims this is an all normal with this truck!
