Husband lost control of the car driving 75 miled per hour on highway. "AWD brake override. Contact dealership" came on a gauge. Pulled off side of I-95 and car shook and came to a complete hault after making a loud grinding noise. We immediatley noticed fire coming from under the hood on driver side. Evacuated, called 911. Car was a total loss. Please get Toyota to investigate since this is not the first 2017 Toyota Sienna to catch on fire in the same manner.
When I'm driving my vehicle in a city street I get an alert on the instrument panel which says "trac off - check AWD system" and the service light turns on. I did not turn the trac off. When I turn the vehicle off and then back on, the service isn't on anymore and the message goes away. This has happened several times when I'm driving and the car stalls and loses speed and wants to shut off as I'm driving in a city street. For several minutes and the service light and the track and AWD light turn on and stay on for several hours. However, when I turn off the car the lights are still on but go away after some time. This has happened several times.
I have a brand new Toyota Sienna and the tires seem to start showing sign of wearing off in 6 months, as if it has alignment issues or something. The car does not pull to one side or anything. The dealership told me that it could be the tire pressure that needs to be kept up and they said that the tire pressure indicator is not good enough to make sure if the pressure is good? Also they told me that the tires these days are softer so they don't last as long? This all seems a little hard for me to believe. OEM tire warranty up to 60K but not last long . Just change new sets of tire with alignment . Toyota engineering needs to address this issue
The vehicle was stationary and one day ABS malfunction light came on due to faulty harness on a 3 year old 35,000 mile vehicle. This reduces the ability of the vehicle to stop normally as it should this also disables the traction control on the vehicle. I was driving in rain without any traction control and it was scary. I contacted Toyota and they keep stating the car is out of warranty. It is $500+ repair to ABS system due to their faulty parts. I just need this to be on the record incase something happens while driving a Toyota Sienna.
The contact owns a 2014 Toyota Sienna. The contact stated while attempting to drive there was an idling issue while attempting to make a turn while accelerating. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact also stated that there was a traction control failure. Additionally, the vehicle failed to accelerate while entering the highway. The failure had been consistent for several years. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, the mechanic was unable to replicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 94,000.
Brakes locked up while trying to leave a parking lot. Many warning lights came on including vsc, ABS, and traction control and the computer said needs immediate service. The Toyota service manager said they've never seen this and that the actuator needs replaced. I've noted that there are 2 other instances of this issue and hope that this safety issue will be investigated. The NHTSA campaign number: 14V054000 that discusses: "an electrical component within the actuator May experience an increased resistance resulting in the illumination of various warning lights, including those for the vehicle stability control (vsc) system, antilock brake system (ABS), and traction control system." I've had this happen three times over the past four months. I've taken it to the shop and they've reset the code and could not find the issue. It keeps coming back. …
I've just finished reading the NHTSA campaign number: 14V054000 that discusses: "an electrical component within the actuator May experience an increased resistance resulting in the illumination of various warning lights, including those for the vehicle stability control (vsc) system, antilock brake system (ABS), and traction control system." I've had this happen three times over the past four months. I've taken it to the shop and they've reset the code and could not find the issue. It keeps coming back. I believe the 14V054000 needs to be expanded to include my vehicle.
On the afternoon of January 10, 2019, my Toyota Sienna failed to brake and resulted in a two-car collision. Just before the accident, my son who was seated in the second-row, observed on the multi-information display that the ABS, vsc, and trac were displaying.
