What owners report

Seat height not adjusting is ludicrous and a hazard! My husband is 6'4", my sons, 6'1", they seat height is not safe and braking/turns cause them to hit their heads. This could be life threatening in a real accident. There should be a lower profile seat that could be installed by Toyota. This is not safe!

2026 Sienna Hybrid · Jul 2026 · 1 injury

While slowing to a stop sign at a normal speed, the 3rd row, which does not lock into place, flew into the upright position. Thankfully it had nothing on top of it, but if it did my children in the second row would have been seriously injured.

I notice the driver seat had a clip that popped off unto my carpet, when inspected it came off the seat rail. While moving my seat back using the electronic seat lever a white clip with two metal bearings was sticking out, I notice the ball bearings were not in place and had came off the white clip. Yes, it is available for inspection. This pose a safety concern as the seat rails will not function correctly when moving seat or using the memory seat buttons for each driver. I have not brought the vehicle to a dealer to inspect as there is a estimate fee involved. I am currently out of my 2 year toyota care warranty. I am not seeing any warning lamps or messages besides the seat making a clicking noise when I move the seat back and forth.

2024 Sienna Hybrid · May 2026

When a lever is pulled, the second row seat can move freely back and forth on a track until the back of the seat is returned to the upright position. I was driving at highway speeds and had to brake suddenly. The seat was at the back of the track with the lever pulled, and it slammed into the back of the driver seat, hurting my back. It stuck there putting pressure on the seat (which could be felt) until I stopped and had to use force to make it slide back.

On June 11, 2026, a BraunAbility Turny Evo seat system, installed by a third-party mobility dealer, suffered a catastrophic mechanical failure while in operation. A passenger with a physical disability was secured in the equipment when the mechanism seized, trapping the individual mid-cycle. The remote control displayed a mandatory "Code 19" error, rendering the equipment unresponsive and creating an immediate safety crisis. Beyond this mechanical failure, the vehicle's structural integrity is compromised. The floor plates and railings, which are critical for the securement of this mobility equipment, are loose and rattling, posing a severe risk of detachment while in motion. Furthermore, the interior upholstery was permanently damaged during the installation process, and a secondary mobility hoist system-which was paid for in full-was never installed. …

The 3rd row seats in the Sienna do not stay stowed as there is no lock. This creates a very dangerous situation when braking. I just got this car a few days ago and already have issues. When I brake or go over bumps, the stowed 3rd row seat pops up a little. That's okay, until you brake. In one instance, I had to brake harder than usual during a traffic incident in front of me, and the 3rd row seats flew forward (up and out of the stowed position) and slammed into the 2nd row seats. It was loud and scary. My child was sitting in the 3rd row (split 3rd row so only one side was stowed) and the seat flying up and forward almost broke her leg as she was sitting with one leg out to the side. We even had items on top of the seat to keep the 3rd row from bouncing and popping up, but that is not a safe solution either. This is an issue reported for recent years on Toyota forums. …
