Toyota issued recall 15V728, regarding the pcs system on our Avalon. That was last November, 2015. Toyota has failed to provide a fix, and we have been without this very expensive important safety feature for over half a year. Toyota's notice stated that if "Toyota has failed or is unable to remedy within a reasonable time, you May submit a complaint to the administrator , national highway traffic safety administration. " I am herein registering that complaint, and request that the NHTSA require Toyota to refund to owners of the affected vehicles the value of the feature we have been deprived of for over half a year. It does not appear that Toyota is going to be able to correct this safety defect in the indefinite future, so Toyota's failure to provide this feature we paid dearly for is bordering on fraud. …

Windows, wipers & sunroof

The rear window retractable sun visor motor/gears have failed. When this happens, it leaves the sun visor in the up position in the rear window at all times. This makes it very, very, hard to see anything out the rear window at night, also pretty hard when it's raining or cloudy out. I understand this has happened to quite a lot of these cars and is a VERY expensive repair cost. I feel this is hazard that Toyota should bear the cost of fixing, because of the sheer amount of vehicles this has happened. Thank you for keeping us all informed and safe from these types of things!

Dec 2022

Installed new Rainex wipers two days ago. Driving tonight in rain and the exterior of the windshield has a film on it that makes it difficult to see when the wipers cycle when near streetlights or when cars with headlighs on are approaching. Seems really dangerous.

Body & structure

Dash board is melting which causes it to get shiny which causes it to reflect onto the windshield. This reflection makes it very difficult to see other vehicles, road lines, and traffic direction sighns.
