The speedometer on the car doesn't work correctly if at all when driving as well as the the fuel gauge. The car started it's dingy noise as if the key is always in the ignition (when off) or a door is ajar. It won't shut off when driving or when turned and it drains the battery. This car has had more problems and should've been recalled. The fuel pump was recalled but there are so many issues that have happened. Driving without the speedometer working of the fuel gauge working correctly should be addressed and the dealer is not able to fix the problem. Super frustrating! Dealing with this issue now for over a year. Having to take it back to the dealership for the 3rd time.
This was the 2nd time this problem occurred. This time I was coming back from a drive on the hwy and my wheel started to shake. It was a drastic change of a smooth ride to a weird shaking. I exited the hwy and went the street way. Still it did not improve got worst could barely accelerate . The brakes were so sensitive I barely pushed them down and it stopped. By the time I got home the and parked the car in the garage it stated to run hot. So I wanted to remove it out the garage it was very hard to reverse I got it half way out of the garage and grabbed my son we ran because it was smelling hot and running hot.
I went to turn left this evening departing off of a sharp turn and the car without warning became almost impossible to steer. Meanwhile, another automobile came flying around the turn and barely missed hitting me. It took much arm muscle but I was able to get the car home. This is our only family car and I am not comfortable any longer driving it. Prior to this incident the readings on the dash began acting up and the remote start quit.

I purchased a 2007 Suzuki XL7 brand new, I have owned the car aprx 2 1/2 years. The power steering started making a noise and I assumed the power steering pump was going out on the vehicle. Since I do alot of traveling the car is not under warranty. I had it checked out by a local mechanic and was told it was the rack and pinion that needed to replaced and would cost aprx $1000.00 but he could not get the part. I then called the local dealership and was told the part would cost aprx $600.00 but it was out of stock and on back order and they had no idea when it would be available. I then called Suzuki corporation and was told the part was out of stock and on back order and they had no idea when it would be available. This has been going on for over a month and all I can get from anyone is the part is not available. …
I am the original owner of a 2007 Suzuki XL7. I bought my vehicle from talisman Suzuki in houston back in September of 2007. Five months after I purchased the vehicle I began to have issues with the tire monitoring systems. A year later at 50,000 miles I noticed that my vehicle was hard to steer, so I took it into the dealer. I have a 100, 000 mile bumper to bumper warranty but I was told that the power steering pump was leaking and that is what was causing the hard steering. I informed the dealer that my vehicle has never leaked power steering and too this day I have not added any power steering fluid and my power steering reservoir is full. I promised myself that I would never buy another Suzuki because I am a faithful buyer, I have had nothing but Suzuki's since I started purchasing vehicles in 1990. I was very disappointed in Suzuki for not trying to solve this problem. …
I purchased my 2007 x7 new from a dealership that closed within 6 months of the purchase (that should have told me something) fortunately, I haven't had any major issues since the purchase until recently. Thank goodness, because there are only 2 Suzuki dealerships within 120 miles of me. Over the course of the last several months, the power steering has become very sluggish and difficult to turn, and makes a lot of noise whenever I turn. In reading the many other vehicle complaints, I see this is a common problem with this make and model. I've been to one of the 2 dealerships in all of houston, texas and was told it needs a new steering gear box, which would run about $800+ . …
Hearing a noise in the steering, reported to dealership along with other service issues in feb. 2011..was told that something was going on with the power steering did not have repaired due to cost quoted at that time.... Reported again today -11/11/11 at dealership and am now told that the components in the steering gear are bad, and is not warrantied. Was also told that these components are not designed to go bad? Well what caused it then, and if that's the case then why won't Suzuki do something?? I was quoted a repair cost of $800!. Cannot have repaired today due to the cost. I asked question if the manufacturer would assist with the cost, was told no. I see several other complaints regarding this same issue and nothing is being done by Suzuki..is there a class action suit out there regarding this? What can we do to get one started. Or maybe this May fall under the lemon law? …
A couple of years ago when our XL7 was still under warranty neal Suzuki in fort worth, texas, fixed the squeaky noise in our steering wheel by replacing the rack and pinion. Today, July 14, 2010, the noise is back and has been back for approximately two months. I haven't noticed any performance issues with the steering other than it has been more sensitive than normal at freeway speeds, 60 and above. The noise is most annoying especially while maneuvering through parking lots. My mother-in-law and my wife's co-worker have experienced the same problem with their xl7s too. I called the service department and since my car is out of warranty I have to pay for the repair this time even though it's the same problem that I had before. What an outrage and rip-off! Who's on the consumer's side? Car corporations are to consumers as major league baseball umpires are to baseball teams and players. …
