As I was driving at 55mph on the hwy I started smelling gas. I thought it was the car in front of me so I was just going to pass him, but quickly realized I did not have the power to pass another car. So I pulled over on the highway and got out of my truck and noticed flames dripping from the center of the vehicle by looking at the front driver wheel area. I tried to put out with a fire extinguisher that a bystander had given me, but it was just too late in the truck was engulfed in flames.

At only 1600 miles on the odometer, I took the car in for oil service and ABS recall. Dealer inspected, said I was OK. They then Flashed the EBS module with new firmware. 4 day's later (less then 6 miles since dealer visit and arriving home after a brief 45mph, 6mile trip, the check engine light came on. As I was 2 blocks from my house, proceeded home. Engine was in limp mode. Suddenly the warning chime sounded, all warning lights came on. Stopped, tried to change gear selector to "R", car would not change gear. Could not select any gear, forward, reverse, neutral or park. Warning messages would not stop. Chime occurred about every 2 seconds, messages from "no forward breaking", No ABS, call dealer, no side blind spot, do not shift transmission. Car was on a hill, and would not go into park. Unsure about break's, so had to chalk wheels using rocks. Could not shutdown engine. …

Vehicle was being driven at highway speed at about 0555. There were no warning lights including no battery or low voltage warnings. Suddenly every warning light came on and all systems failed. Engine had stopped and computer had shifted vehicle into neutral. Power steering and power brakes had failed as well. At least one driver side rear tail light went out (I think forward headlights as well but not sure). The vehicle was still coasting at highway speed!!! Engine would not restart. I was extremely lucky to not be in an accident as the vehicle was suddenly essentially undrivable while traveling at a high rate of speed. I was lucky to be able to get it to side of road safely but in different traffic conditions this likely would have caused an accident as it was impossible to increase speed, and extremely difficult to steer or brake. The car is at dealers for repairs. …

Bought 2025 Dodge Ram on 9/9/24. Since then I have had it into the shop 10+ times. There is a check engine light that comes on. Engine runs VERY rough and erratic. Had issues driving away from a stop light, chugging, lack of power. Making a left hand turn is taking my life in my hands! Each time at the dealership, they run the codes. P0300 is the primary. They just say its a known issue. Manufacture is working on it. IT HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR NOW!! They have never actually done anything to the vehicle other than run diagnostics and turn off the light. In fact the last time I picked up the vehicle 9/12/25, they didn't even turn off the light. Tech said, "whats the point?" I have elevated this with the manufacture Case94136984. There reply was that its not dangerous and a fix is coming. Have you ever tried to make a left hand turn and the truck stops and starts chugging??? …

On Friday evening, while driving my new Ram 1500 Tungsten on a freeway, the engine warning light illuminated and the vehicle suddenly lost power. I was traveling at highway speed at the time. Almost immediately after the loss of power, gasoline began pooling underneath the truck. Because of the visible fuel leak and strong gasoline odor, my wife and I exited the vehicle and stood well away from it due to the potential fire risk. We were stranded on the side of a busy freeway in the dark for over an hour while waiting for a tow truck. The vehicle was ultimately towed to a Ram dealership. The truck had approximately 3,766 miles on it at the time of the incident. As of the date of this report, the vehicle has been at the dealership for 6 days and has not yet been inspected or diagnosed. …

I purchased a new 2025 Ram 1500. Within the first week of ownership, the vehicle developed repeated engine misfires, check engine lights, and electrical issues, including a dead battery. The vehicle was repaired multiple times under warranty. The engine later suffered an internal failure that required complete engine replacement. After the engine replacement, the vehicle developed a new drivability problem. The truck now consistently shudders and hesitates during light acceleration and while maintaining a steady speed. The RPM has fluctuated unexpectedly, and the vehicle feels as though it is being fuel starved. This occurs without a check engine light. The dealership's technician reproduced the condition during a test drive and confirmed the shudder. …

2025 Ram 1500 experiences complete engine stalling at low RPM while coasting to stops. First and only owner since June 20, 2025. Vehicle properly maintained. INCIDENTS: August 28, 2026 - stalled twice (12:30 PM at stop sign, 3:30 PM at stop light). Both times coasting with no throttle/brake input. Check engine light appeared. September 17, 2026 - Critical safety incident: Vehicle stalled while releasing brake at stop sign merging with Highway 50 eastbound (50 MPH traffic). Complete loss of power steering and brakes during highway merge. REPAIR ATTEMPTS FAILED: Dropped off September 3, returned September 10 after PCM software update. Stalling returned. Returned September 16-17 for ignition control module update. Vehicle stalled in dealership parking lot same day. Two repair attempts in two weeks - both unsuccessful. DIAGNOSTIC CODES: P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303 (cylinder misfires). …

September 14 ~10AM I was starting from a stop light wen the truck suddenly started surging and the tach showed over 4K RPM, all Gage lights were erratic, it would not accelerate, i lost power steering, and pulled the truck over and did a hard reboot (restart). While that recharged the system I had just exited a treacherous 8 mile very narrow stretch of road between Brookings and Grants Pass Oregon, that has very sharp and blind turns frequented by logging and delivery semi trucks traveling at 30-65 mile per hour depending on the section. If this had happened an hour earlier I'd be dead because there is NO WHERE to pull off. This truck now scares the life (literally) out of me. Took it to get recalls done 9-29-26 and personnel refused to answer any questions or offer help. While there a man with 22 ram diesel came complaining about exact same problems. We talked for over one hour. …

After towing module recall completed, the trailer towing light comes On showing up on the dash board in yellow requesting setup, then fades off. Twice happened. Folding mirror required three depressions of folding mirror button to open. Back up camera fails and shows blue screen, no back up image. 5 times since Ownership. Downshift and up shift hard enough and jerky enough to break traction on icy roads in traffic. Winter is coming and this is a genuine safety concern. Pulling into parking spot very slowly truck went into park and applied brakes, no reason for this. Front sensors failed to operate when pull into into another park spot and only worked on restart. Both batteries failed and required replacement under warranty when truck was new with break in type miles. A/C locked up on infotainment center and could not turn off. Required three restarts. …

Aug 2026

There have been systemic cylinder misfires (each cylinder), anomalous electrical architecture behavior, and transmission calibration irregularities. The check engine light indicated multiple cylinder misfires, which I understand from the dealer is a common issue with the 2025 model. As the driver, there are a few major issues: Chassis Vibration-pronounced shaking or shuddering transmitted through the steering wheel and seat, particularly during the first engine start of the day or idling. Idle Instability-An erratic or surging idle, where the tachometer needle fluctuates noticeably without any throttle input. Throttle Hesitation-A distinct stumble, lethargy, or loss of power when attempting to accelerate from a stop or while merging. It also requires more energy to accelerate, and stops faster. This problem has been addressed at three (3) CDJR dealerships now, and is still ongoing. …
