The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45-50 MPH in the rain, children in the rear of the vehicle informed the contact that the rear window was allowing water to leak into the vehicle. The water reached several electrical systems, including the rear braking assembly and the third brake light seal above the cab of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who informed the contact that the window and window seals needed to be replaced. The contact decided not to repair the vehicle out of pocket because of TSB Number: 23/098/23 Warranty Ext XL1, which addressed the failure. The dealer informed the contact that the parts for the repair were the same parts that needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not covered under TSB Number: 23/098/23 Warranty Ext XL1 because the TSB expired in 2021. The failure mileage was 53,467.

There is a known issue with the Ram infotainment Uconnect systems. The 2022 Ram 1500 frequently experiences infotainment issues involving its Uconnect 5 system, characterized by loud buzzing or popping noises, "screen bouncing" (glitchy movement or flickering), and spontaneous reboots. These symptoms often result from software bugs, a full memory cache, or, in some cases, hardware defects requiring a complete unit replacement. Some issues tied to this are Loss of Rearview Visibility, The radio software can prevent the backup camera image from displaying on the center screen when you shift into reverse. Driver Distraction from "Ghost Touching" and Loud Noise, Impairment of Integrated Safety Controls: In the 2022 Ram, the infotainment screen is often the only way to access or adjust certain safety-related features. …

Driving through mountains in the month of June and it started to rain , temperature dropped suddenly causing the windshield to frost over. I turned on the defrost and nothing happened. I could feel it blowing air out but it wasn't clearing the windshield. We grabbed whatever we could find and tried clearing it but it didn't seem to help. My wife had to roll down her window so we could see the edge of the road. There was heavy traffic, could have been a fatal accident, VERY SCARY. We sat there for 15 minutes to a half hour before we felt safe enough to continue. It happened again about a year later. Have takin it to the dealer 3 times (2 different places) and they stated they couldn't do anything about it because the computer showed that there was nothing wrong. I have seen reports on this happening to other 2022 Ram 1500 trucks but mine is not included. …

Approximately 10 mins into my drive there was a burning smell in my cab, then within a few seconds there was a loud popping/exploding sound. I pulled into a parking lot within 100 feet and exited vehicle. I went to front of vehicle to see if there was smoke and after finding none I leaned back inside my truck's cab and realized not only was the burning smell stronger but there was visible smoke lingering. At that point I saw that one of the back stationary windows was shattered. Looking closer I saw that below the window the glass was charred and the plastic trim had melted slightly. I stayed out of the vehicle and started researching the possible cause. I read several reports of issues with 5th generation Ram trucks, like mine, experienced issues like mine caused from faulty rear defrosters. …

My 2022 Ram sunvisor has a broken connection that caused it to come loose from the roof/ceiling and dangle in my line of sight while driving. This almost caused an accident for me as it startled me and I had to take my hands off the wheel to stop it from swinging by the electrical cord. It is a powered sunvisor with my garage door opener built in and that is the only reason it did not fall completely in my lap. I am hoping by reporting that other people may have had a similar issue and measures can be taken to stop this from happening to others. I went to the place where I purchased the vehicle and warranty to find out that this defect is not covered under warranty. For a vehicle that is only 2 calendar years old with 49,000 miles, this part should not fail. I am unable to add additional photos showing how far down in line of sight the visor falls. The website only uploads blanks.

Wipers come on for now reason, no rain and not activated by driver. Interior screen goes black sometimes when backing up. After stopping for a traffic light then taking off, the transmission shifts to neutral. The only way to reengage the transmission is to come to a complete stop, put it in park and then back into drive. I have been to the dealer many times and they say unless it happens while in their care, there is nothing they can do. No codes come up. I gave them the day and time it last happened, thinking it must be stored in the computer and they would be able to track it down. Nope. This is a very dangerous problem. The truck also ran out of fuel when the gauge read 19 miles to go. I took it to the dealer and told them it must be a sensor, sender or gauge....says this is normal. Well that is not normal, if you ask me.

Was driving on interstate coming home from Texas when we encountered a winter storm that was producing freezing rain. We were running the defroster on high to stop the ice buildup that was occurring on the windshield when the air suddenly stopped blowing through the defroster vents and diverted to the floor vents. Our safety and others was compromised by the ice being able to build up and significantly reducing our visibility effectively causing us to have to stop on the offramps to de-ice the windshield. Against my better judgement I did not take vehicle to the dealer because other drivers of similar vehicles had reported that they have experienced similar results in similar conditions. There were no warning lamps or prior symptoms associated with this event.

Drivers side visor plastic mount broke while attempting to adjust the visor while driving on the turnpike. Visor was impeding visibility and could not be removed due to the electrical components. Also could not pull over to remove because specialty torx screwdriver required and was well outside of any city or town. Had to extend the visor and prop it against the door as the only means to reduce the obstruction in order to get home. I was concerned that a sharp turn would dislodge it from its precarious perch. Online searches indicate this has been a common problem since the 2019 model and numerous companies make an aftermarket bracket to go over the OEM part to correct this well known and obvious defective part.
