Beginning at 15K miles the power sliding doors began not functioning properly. The would automatically open as if there was an obstruction in the doorway. At 18K miles there was a complete failure to the motor drive assembly. After repair both doors continued to auto open. During normal driving conditions at interstate speed the door did come open with no passengers in it. When the doors are not functioning properly you must deactivate lock out rocker switch on overhead console, then manually close. If you re-energize the lock out switch door will auto open. At times the door ajar chime will sound while the doors are shut and locked and will not turn off, once to the point of running out the battery. When doors do not want to shut they force themselves open repeatedly. Multiple occasions a month since 2006, I have had it in for service numerous times with no success. …

I purchased a uses 2004 Pontiac Montana on 1/23/05 and on 9/21/05 as I was driving on a city downhill street the rear axel became dislodged from the car. Pieces fell off the car and just missed oncoming traffic. Luckily I was only traveling about 25 mi. Per hr. The road was clear and dry. The car stopped immediately. It was determined that the tie rod holding the rear axel looked rusted and it cracked. The rod holding the rear axel is very thin metal and has designed holes in it. Just doesn't look like what should be holding a whole rear axel. The entire rear end of the car was replaced and I have been driving it. I don't feel safe in the car. Luckily I don't live where salted roads are necessary. The newspaper article re: 1998-2003 Ford windstar rear axel corrosion alerted me to a corrosion problem maybe what happened to me. …

After van was picked up on Friday night door had been scratched up with sandpaper. This was undocumented on the paper work. All that was included on the paper work was oil change. The van was taken to dealer for oil change, and to have the door fixed. The receipt only mentioned oil change. Also, ignition started by itself. When the key was turned in the upright position the van cranked ,and driver's hand was not on the key. In addition, there is water in front headlight cover which was replaced 3 times . …

I opened the passenger side door with my remote and began placing groceries in the van. While performing this action, my daughter thought she would help me by turning on the light on the overheard panel. She pushed the wrong button. The automatic door began closing while I was leaning into the van. It continued closing, squeezing me into the door frame itself. I was not able to free myself until the door began retracting on its own. Both hips are bruised and sore and it is painful to walk.
