The air bag light glitches on the dashboard, it turns on and off. The only windows that open are the front door windows, the back side windows could barely crack open && the temperature inside the vehicle "with the windows open" reach dangerously high temperatures that literally are harmful and dangerous. A family vehicle with no ability to open any window on the 2 sliding doors, can lead to very high temperatures even though the front 2 windows open is still not enough for air to reach passengers who sit in the middle-row especially passengers who sit on the 3rd row seat in the back of the van. A recall must be done to adjust the windows on both sliding doors on each side to be able to roll down the windows... The temperature trapped inside the vehicle[passengers and seats area] with all the windows open was of 99, on a regular sunny day.... …
Nissan Quest 2004 service engine soon light on and problems with steering. The service engine soon light had come on 3 times, creaking was felt in the steering wheel and or the front end, sounds were heard coming from the engine compartment, computer tire monitor indicated a flat tire and or low tire pressure during cold weather, the vehicle would run for five minutes then go up to 4 degrees higher (over inflated), when the weather was warm, the setting would then be above 40 psi which was dangerous to drive if not adjusted (incorrect results on the display), SRS light had come on after recall campaign #04V103000 was performed, driver's side power window was intermittent, sliding doors made loud bump noise when opened all the way, especially on inclines, heat outlets located on the floor behind the first row seat can't be controlled by the passenger rear controls, the dome lights were …
My Nissan Quest has been plagued with electrical problems from day one. The windows go down completely on their own with vehicle turned off. The passenger sliding door opens randomly on its own. The tire alarm goes off when tire pressure is fine. Air vents fly off and lights fall out of the ceiling. Most troubling is the automatic side sliding door. Owner's manual stated on page 3-8 the door will reverse direction immediately during power open or close, a warning chime will sound and the door will reverse direction and return to the full open or full close position. The door does not operate this way, the door will not stop when it encounters an object it will continue to push the object in its way. My husband and I have both been caught by the door. It has knocked small children to the ground. …
Dt: the brakes heat up and the rotors warp. The steering wheel would start shaking when the consumer applied the brakes. The vehicle was taken to the dealership at that point. The consumer stated it happened every 4000 miles since she has had the vehicle. It first happened in March of 2004. The dealership is telling the consumer that the brakes are heating up. The rotors have been resurfaced three times. They ordered new rotors and they have been on for approximately 3 months and the steering wheel is shaking again. Tl contact owns a 2004 Nissan Quest. The contact stated that the vehicle's side electrical sliding door opens and closes automatically. The doors on the vehicle will also occasionally fail to open. The door will open so that a passenger May enter the vehicle, then the door will close before they are completely inside the vehicle. The vehicle has been taken to the dealer approximately six times and the dealer changed the sensors and readjusted the doors. The door continues to not work properly. The vehicle is part of recall # 04V186000 (latches/locks/linkages:doors:latch), but the failure persists. The current mileage is 70,000 and failure mileage was 42,000. The consumer stated battery weak, dealer replaced battery. The consumer stated slow leak in tires, the dealer replaced all four tires. The dealer stated there was a recall on 2nd row seat, dealer stated parts are on special order. …
The windshield wiper fluid sprayed too low, causing impaired vision. The cause has not yet to been determined. The dealer tried to correct the problem by replacing the nozzles but that did not correct the problem. The part has been replaced twice. The consumer believes the nozzle needs to be redesigned. The storage lid warped and as a result the lid is not flush with the dash.
The glass sun roof leaks, cauing water to accumulate in the real well. This accumulation of water causes the automatic lift gate to fail (short out). The sun roof alos leaks into the car passenger area dripping on the passengers in the middle row. There is water damage seen on the inside roof of the van & May cause mold & must smell.*
In December of 2006 we purchased a 2004 Nissan Quest se. The first year was not entirely trouble free, the drivers seat would self adjust while driving. The dealer fixed it no charge. The in December of 07 the trans went out, again the dealer covered it at no charge, gave us a loaner and were done within a week. Except for the inconvenience of not having our van we were fine until now!!! In June of 08 we were going for a Sunday drive and the van just died in the middle of the street. Nothing would work nothing, no power anywhere. We called road side and all they could do was tow us to al piemonte Nissan in melrose park, il. The following Monday, the dealer calls and tells us the ECU is burnt out, and has some corrosion. It's covered under warranty so no need to far right!!! A week later we finally get a loaner, OK not too bad. …
2004 Nissan Quest. Consumer states safety problem with the power windows and power doors the consumer stated the passenger side window would not stay closed. When the consumer took the vehicle to the dealer, he was informed to fix the problem it would require replacing the motor, which would be very expensive. The consumer declined the repair. Later on, the window reverted back to its proper closing procedure and operated as it was designed. However, the driver's window would not close automatically and the consumer was forced to hold down the button manually. The door on the passenger side would not close completely. It would stop about half way. The consumer had to physically push the door closed which lasted for weeks. Then, suddenly the door began closing correctly without any attempt at repair. The sliding door on the driver's side didn't function as it should. …
Windshield washers on Nissan 2004 Quest are ineffective. The spray does not reach the glass at highway speeds. The dealer was unable to correct the problem. The dealer also confirmed the same models on their lot also had the problem. In addition, after a light snowfall, the dealer told me that they received 3 complaints from other owners. The dealer has notified Nissan.
