Van right auto sliding door flew open on my 3 children going 50mph 11 yr. Old son had to hold door closed with his body and feet until safely stop. Door going back and forth, would not stay closed, would not stay opened!!! Dealership had to unhook battery to get the door to disengage! Said probably minor problem. Contacted sales dept - problems from 1st week with van. No contact for several days, contacted them. Would be a week or two to replace part. No call again. Called them 4th week. Serv. Dept. Said new bulletin (not a recall) did not have replace. Part. When picked up in summer began to have major rattling in side doors, rear door, 2nd & 3rd row seats. Took back to dealership, did some adjustments needs body shop work, to set up apointment. No call. Door came open again with my children +2 onboard while driving. …
My Nissan Quest has been plagued with electrical problems from day one. The windows go down completely on their own with vehicle turned off. The passenger sliding door opens randomly on its own. The tire alarm goes off when tire pressure is fine. Air vents fly off and lights fall out of the ceiling. Most troubling is the automatic side sliding door. Owner's manual stated on page 3-8 the door will reverse direction immediately during power open or close, a warning chime will sound and the door will reverse direction and return to the full open or full close position. The door does not operate this way, the door will not stop when it encounters an object it will continue to push the object in its way. My husband and I have both been caught by the door. It has knocked small children to the ground. …
A newly purchased 2004 Nissan Quest with current mileage of around 4,800 miles when incident happened. While driving on highway, the driver side rear tire suddenly bent and smoke came out. Van was then towed back to dealership and found that the cross member was broken off. Dealership denied warranty coverage because service manager thought that such damage May have been caused by a collision, because he saw a few light scratches and a smaller than 2cm mark on the rim. I am sure that the van was not hit by anything when the tire was bent. The scratches and little mark could be caused by pulling over to shoulder with a bent tire. I pointed to the service manager that the joint of the broken cross member was full of rust, a sign of incomplete sealed over a period of time, obviously not a new damage caused by an accident. …
1- normaly exiting the car my 3.5 yr old son got his right foot crushed by the right passenger automatic sliding door which started closing by itself. 2-even after recall has been performed for the sliding doors not locking this door seems to have a mind of its own and it is not acceptable nor safe that we can't exit the vehicle without fear of injury!!! Specially for both of my young sons. - at his moment the car has been reported 2 times to the car dealer and the fix has been the additional lubrication of the door and cleaning of the contacts. In addition to the recall repairs to the locking mechanism which has never been and issue. Last, my wife was also a victim of this fault with a nasty bruise to her forearm. …
Tl* the contact owns a 2004 Nissan Quest. The contact stated the sliding door latches failed to function properly for the rear doors on both sides. The contact had to check the doors to ensure that they were secured and when the failure happened, the contact had to manually close the two electric doors with force. The vehicle was excluded from NHTSA campaign number: 04V186000 (latches/locks/linkages) and NHTSA action number: pe04027 (structure, latches/locks/linkages) but the contact had experienced the failure concerning the recalls. Two dealers had been notified (busam Nissan,1501 e kemper rd, cincinnati, oh 45246,[phone] and jeff wyler Nissan of cincinnati, 8680 colerain ave, cincinnati, oh 45251, [phone]). The contact was to check with the manufacturer to determine a remedy to repair the vehicle. …
Purchased this vehicle 3 months ago, used. We have had nothing but problems since. The main problems are: the roof leaks, whether it's the sunroof or something else causing the leak remains to be seen. Dealer claims no leak found, but everytime it rains there is water in the van, which now reeks of mold. The passenger power sliding door will not close properly on the first try. It keeps opening up right as it goes to close. Dealer claims fixed but still have to make 2 or 3 attempts before it will finally work. Door would not close at all 2 times in the last week. Manual override did not release the door. After waiting 5 minutes and trying again, the door would finally shut. The A/C does not blow out cool air on very hot (over 80 degrees) days.
I recently purchased a 2004 Nissan Quest, one week after ownership the passenger side power door began and has continued to rattle, the van has been to the dealership with no positive results, the dealer states that there is "no fix" for the problem yet althought they acknowledge the problem exists, more seriously, three times the van has failed to shift properly, upon a dead stop the van is stuck in a high gear 3rd, 4th, or overdrive. Acceleration is almost imposible and unsafe as I am unable to bring the van up to speed with the gas pedal fully pressed! The dealer was unable to duplicate the problem so it continues.
Shortly after purchasing vehicle rear sliding doors creek and rattle. The vehicle has been to the dealership four times and problem still exhists. The passenger side door leaks after it rains and the dealership has not been able to duplicate the problem so no fix has been made. Windows periodically roll down on their own and the dealership states it's a feature but problem exhists when pressing the automatic lock feature not just the unlocking feature. When car is running and A/C is started a loud kick in the engine occurs. Van has failed to start and part had to be replaced in the engine.
The driver's side sliding door, not powered, will open up when accelerating or going around a curve. The door will not close when the temp is below 32 degrees. Obviously this is dangerous when my 6 month old infant is in the car when the door opens up. The Nissan dealer was told about it 4 times and today, again, it was not even looked at. Does my infant have to fall out of the car before this problem will be taken seriously? How do I get this fixed? The recall was on the power door and not on the other one. There is a problem on both types of doors and this is not acknowledged.
Tl contact owns a 2004 Nissan Quest. While the vehicle was in drive, the front driver and passenger doors were locked. The handle was pulled and the door opened. The dealer stated that the failure was normal. The failure mileage was 10,000 and current mileage was 57,000. *updated 12/12/07 the consumer stated even though the dealer told her it was a normal feature, it was corrected on the 2006 and 2007 models. The consumer stated on the newer models, the front doors do not open when locked and while the vehicle is in motion. Updated 12/12/07
