What owners report
The contact owns a 2026 Mazda CX-90. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds, the steering wheel was pulling to the left, causing the vehicle to merge into the left lane unintendedly. The contact firmly held the steering wheel to prevent the failure. Additionally, the vehicle jerked to the right lane while the lane keep steering assist function was activated because the steering wheel was pulling to the left. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but no cause of failure was found. The failure persisted, and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer, and an alignment of 0.1 degrees was performed; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer for the third time, and the contact was informed that no repair was available and was advised to contact the manufacturer for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. …
On multiple occasions, the steering wheel became stiff or locked while driving or during start-up, multiple dashboard warning lights illuminated, and the vehicle could not be shifted from Park to Drive. This occurred repeatedly since the vehicle was purchased. The dealer inspected the vehicle multiple times; on the first attempts they could not duplicate the issue. On a later visit, the vehicle displayed a lost communication fault with the electric power steering (EPS) system, and the dealer replaced the steering gear/rack assembly and EPS motor per the manufacturer's technical hotline instructions. Despite this part replacement, the same steering/warning light condition recurred weeks later. At that point the dealer confirmed the defect but stated there is currently no authorized repair or parts replacement available, and that engineering is developing a permanent corrective action. …
The steering seems to be malfunctioning and is hesitant or sticking when operating the vehicle. The steering wheel seems to hesitate or stick only during left hand turns, even slight ones. If you do not manually pull the steering wheel back after turning, it will stay in the position and not return as it should. This issue posses a severe safety risk to my family and others if the steering component does not perform properly. An accident could easily occur as a result of this issue. The issue has not been confirmed by an authorized dealer yet. I am taking the vehicle to a Mazda dealership in the next week or so. No warning lamps or messages occur prior to or during the issue. This issue was first noticed 9/21/26.
Every time I drive the vehicle, it basically snatches me back into the lane aggressively. If I am moving into the next lane, the lane correction is so aggressively, I am afraid it is going to cause a collision. The brakes squeak and squeal constantly. They have oiled the brakes but it didn't work.
The contact leased a 2024 Mazda CX-90. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH in the far left lane, the vehicle jerked and the steering wheel seized, causing the contact to lose control of the vehicle. It was unknown whether warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle veered to the right independently, spun three times, crashed into the guard rail and came to a stop while facing oncoming traffic. The front driver's side airbag and an unknown air bag deployed. There were unknown warning lights illuminated after the crash. The emergency units arrived at the scene, but the contact refused to be examined. The contact sustained a minor hand burn from the air bag deployment but did not seek medical assistance. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a collision center, where it was totaled. The insurance company was not contacted. …
The contact owns a 2024 Mazda CX-90. The contact stated that the steering rack coil was previously replaced under a recall. The contact stated that while driving 40 MPH off the highway, the contact suddenly lost steering and directional control, and the vehicle independently veered out of the lane. The contact was able to regain control after several attempts. The contact initially believed that the vehicle had hydroplaned; however, the failure reoccurred a month later. The contact stated that while driving 35 MPH on another occasion, the driver completely lost steering and directional control. The vehicle independently veered to the left and moved uncontrollably while the contact attempted to turn right. The steering wheel felt firm and was stuck before overcorrecting, causing the rear passenger's side rim to strike a curb on the right. …
