I was in a car accident on the freeway . I had just got onto the freeway so I couldn't have been going that fast . The brakes on this Lexus Nx [redacted] to say the least . Also the collision sensor and warning also are useless. The warning light and sound didn't go off until I was basically rear ending the other vehicle . I had a different , 10 year old car . A 2014 that would start to pump air and brake itself even when the car sensor believed it was close to a car and I wasn't braking . This 2024 Lexus didn't brake nor warn me in time . When I did notice the car in front of me had come to a complete stop I immediately hit the brakes but the car was still sliding forward ! This sliding motion happened once before when I made a u- turn and had to stop because of the line going into a shopping center . Luckily that time I had more space and lower speed and more time to react.
The Drivers side door (light at the bottom of the door) sparked and then the door went up in flames. At that point the electricity in the car ceased to work. The car is available for inspection at the dealership where we had it towed. If the door was closed and there was someone in the car when it happened then they would have gotten burned or worse. Our insurance company is investigating and Lexus has been taking their time and helpful in the matter. Fire Department checked out the car at the time and said the wires in the door were very hot after putting out the fire. There were no symptoms or warnings prior to this happening.

Less than 10 months old (March and April 2024 at ~5,000 miles), the 12V battery completely drained 3 times in 5 days (despite driving it regularly during that period) so the car would not start when needed. I had it jumped 3 times by AAA and the third time drove it to dealer. Dealer told me battery was defective so it needed to be replaced under warranty. Problem reported to Lexus Customer Service. The same problem recurred 3 months later (July 2024 at 6000 miles) the morning I was packing it to leave on vacation. The battery died while I was in the car and I was locked inside. When I got out, the doors locked again so had to have the car towed to a different dealer. They told me the battery needed to be replaced AGAIN under warranty. …
The driver's side door on my 2024 Lexus NX 350h has completely seized and will not open from either the inside or the outside. The vehicle is equipped with the electronic e-Latch system. Even the emergency mechanical override fails to release the latch. This is a severe, life-threatening safety hazard. In the event of an accident, fire or emergency, I would be trapped inside the vehicle with no way to exit from the driver's seat. An authorized dealership (Lexus of Tustin) has kept the vehicle for over two weeks without resolving the issue. They failed to diagnose the electronic latch failure properly and instead presented a retail estimate of $781.88 just to "attempt" a repair, while officially advising in writing to take this 2024 vehicle to a third-party bodyshop because their technicians cannot properly access the component. …
After sitting all night -- Started the car which started normally. But the instrument gauge cluster remained totally black except for the warning symbols in test cycle. The infotainment screen started properly. But the gauge cluster remained black. No speedometer, gas gauge, tire pressure etc. Just black. Tried multiple times, turned on and off, killed the electronics by holding the volume button, got out and opened the hood then opened the fuse box and found nothing wrong (pressed and wiggled the fuses) no loose fuses. opened the door and got back in. Car and all gauges started but the center gauge cluster took longer than normal to boot. That was in mid June 2026 2 months ago and has not reoccurred. In searching for solution discovered that the opening and closing and reentering the car is a workaround (sometimes) so I think it was the fix.
There's something wrong in the electrical system. In order to start the car, it requires boosting the battery only. Boosting under the hood doesn't work with the lithium power packs charged 100%. After signing the financial documents the day I test drove it, I couldn't drive it home if I wanted to. The car wouldn't start. I don't know how the dealer got it started but I have been intermittently boosting it to start. This happens whether the car sits a day or more. The last frequent boost was 3/17/2025. Another thing, the car can be in driver assistance with lane tracking and the lane tracking will shut off automatically. Also, when the lens of the cameras on the car gets wet, the cameras don't work. They become foggy blank.
The Lexus is equipped with a large screen which displays GPS and other Apps. The car has been programmed with a pop up advertisement which states "Experience Drive Connect" that is an additional paid subscription which I do not want. I can reach over and touch an icon that removes the pop up which only pops up again a short time later. According to Stevinson Lexus and Lexus for help site there is nothing they can do to remove the pop up. Here is the safety issue: My attention to driving has been comprised by having to look at the screen to remove the pop up which only pops up a short time later. This unnecessary advertisement is simply not wanted.
On 2026-07-05, my car started except the digital instrument panel was blank/black. This meant the digital gas and battery gauges weren't visible, in addition to the speedometer, etc. I tried restarting the car to see if it was a fluke but it did not come back. On 2026-07-06, the car worked fine / as expected, but after a google search, it seems like this happens to other owners as well in the past with no clear reason why. Wanted to report in case it becomes a larger thing.
