What owners report

Sky slider roof which is an option for this vehicle has broken loose from the vehicle. This is the third failure of this convertible top feature. The top slides backward electrically on metal tracks and is pulled backwards using cables. The first failure of the roof was in 2010. At that time the roof would not close leaving it open and dangerous while driving. The vehicle was under mfg warranty and the entire cable and track was replaced. The second identical problem occurred in February 2011 resulting in repair and replacement of cables and track. Most recently, the cables have again broken leaving the top unable to close, only this time, the components have broken and while driving the top came loose and flew open causing more damage to the vehicle. The dealership where this vehicle has been repaired for this identical issue is aware of the ongoing problems with the sky slider. …

On multiple occasions Jeep wrote that I would receive a trailer hitch to enhance safety from rear end collisions, to prevent the gas tank from blowing up. When I tool the Liberty in for the recall, all they put on was the holder for the ball hitch. They did not put on the trailer hitch itself. They provided a poorly copied letter which included this paragraph: "do not attempt to tow with the campaign-installed trailer hitch assembly. Your vehicle was not equipped with a Chrysler OEM trailer tow package and this campaign-hitch assembly does not include the necessary wiring harnesses and/or other heavy duty components for towing." I believe this is a slap in the face by Chrysler to its customers and the nhtsb, saying, "you can make me do x, and we will agree, but then we won't do x, we'll do x minus a and b". …

2007 Jeep Liberty. 4th time window regulators failed in past three years. All windows once and same windows twice.. On 10/08/10 while traveling south on I 95. Windows were in full upright position, when out no where, the front passenger window dropped . Two minutes later the rear drivers side dropped out. I had to drive 100 miles home like that. . Very scary . Dealer people know about the problem but said no recall yet.. I guess someone has to die and sue them before they will recall. Soooo many people have same complaint. Please help us before someone gets really hurt.. Thank you. I do not know the part # but had to put something in to complete this survey or it wouldn't let me continue. I believe Jeep uses mopar parts, unknown part# for regulator part.. Please help...

On Wednesday, September 5, 2007, at approximately 8:30 pm both my husband and I got in our 2006 Jeep Liberty with only 9,188 miles to drive home. Upon turning on the vehicle we turned up the air conditioner and heard a grinding sound. Unsure of what the noise was, my husband turned down the air for a moment. As he turned the air back up the blower fan fell out of the dashboard and into the foot area of the passenger front seat where I was sitting. The blower fan was still turning as it made contact with my feet because it did not detach from the electrical wiring. The blower fan continued running until my husband shut off the vehicle. Due to the fact that I was wearing sandals when the blower fan fell out of the dashboard my toes were severely lacerated and suffered abrasions. These injuries required me to seek medical attention. …

A few weeks ago I had flat tire. When we used the jack that came with the vehicle it did not live it high enough to put the spare tire on. It lacked about 3 inches or so. If this had happened on the side of the road I would have in a bad situation. We put the flat back on and aired it up using a neighbors air compressor. I searched on the internet and learned that this problem with the jack is normal for the Jeep Liberty. It is a safety issue and should be dealt with. I have no photographic evidence, but would be glad to demonstrate to anyone who would want to check it. Thankfully this all happened at my home.

Greetings, I am writing to you today because I have received several safety recall notices for the same recall #n46/NHTSA 13v-252 beginning in 2013. I have had my name registered with two different dealerships for well over 18 months with no repair work done. I am asking for your assistance in having this issue remedied. I can be reached at [redacted] for any relevant information or communication. Respectfully, [redacted]

There was not an accident. I'm just having a very hard (impossible) time getting any Jeep dealer to perform the safety recall n46 (installing trailer hitch on the back of Jeep to prevent fires/explosions in a collision). Every Jeep dealer keeps telling me the parts on national backorder and there is nothing they can do.
