I was involved in an accident in my 2012 Jeep Liberty when another driver pulled left I front of me to make their right turn into a parking lot. My truck drove over hi and on the way down struck a parked car and flipped over on to its hood. The entire interior caved in directly on to my head and not a single air bag deployed. I was hospitalized and was already handicapped so this exacerbated my injuries pronouncedly and the increased pain, both physical and mental, LED to my wife leaving, loss of employment, family, you name it and it's been lost because of this accident. When you see pics, you'll understand why paramedics were shocked I was alive at all. -[redacted] (1st 2 pics are exterior, 3rd pic is of my driver's seat itself and how I managed avoiding being split in 1/2 is beyond me.) see also odi 11053500.
I was hit on my passenger front, while attempting to cross into a parking lot, so hard until my tire rod bent at a 90* angle. My passenger airbag didn't deploy. None of my airbags deployed. There was no blind spot warning. Even after the impact, there was no alarm or notification of the damage, as the firemen were attempting to drive my car out of the road.
Driving on highway, began hearing a high pitched humming noise, began smelling a burning rubber smell, pulled over to side of highway, and smoke began coming from under the hood. Within 10 mins, the front end of the vehicle was completely engulfed in flames. Have owned vehicle for a year and a half, and have had no issues prior to this incident. Car seemed to be functioning normally prior to this incident.
This Jeep Liberty has a sky slider roof which opens like a convertible top. The top malfunctioned when trying to open it and we were unable to close it electronically with the control buttons. It remained partially open at the front and along the sides. This happened while using it in a straight line at around 55 MPH on a 2-lane highway in north dakota while on a trip about 250 miles from home. The dealer was able to manually push it down most of the way but informed us that the entire assembly including motors, arms, cables, and cloth top would have to be replaced. The parts were ordered 7/9/18, and it is now 10/2/18 and Jeep does not have a supplier for the part. I contacted Jeep customer care [phone] on 9/14/18 to see if they could escalate the situation but they state Jeep is waiting for a new supplier. I have a case opened which is assigned to a case manager. …
During rainy weather, driving the speed limit, the front passenger side tire felt that it was going unstable. Tried controlling the vehicle when it veered towards the right. Lost control of the vehicle and went into a ditch for a almost thirty feet. Was finally able to stop when crashed into a tre. Side airbags deployed but not the front air bag. Injuries to my head, neck and shoulder.
The retractable roof broke and will not close completely... Contacted the dealer and was told it would take a month to get the pieces....that month is now going on five...was given a number by the dealership to call and put in a complaint...now I have a case number and a woman who calls me every week telling me they are working on rectifying the problem. I was told today that they are unable to make the replacement pieces at this time because the "mold" for the piece was lost...so now they are in the process of trying to find a manufacturer to make the "mold" to make the piece...then make sure it is safe for the public....really...I call bs..they need to take these car back and return my money..this cannot be legal...I am making car payments on a car I cannot drive safely...do they not realize god forbid someone drives their car like this and gets into an accident and is ejected from …
I'm the original owner of a 2009 Jeep Liberty with a Skyslider roof that I barely used. I was driving when the Sky Slider roof suddenly blew open and back, snapping the cables and launching pieces of parts like missiles. It was a terrifying experience for me and my young children. I have dealt with the very loud wind noise for the past 12 years after having it evaluated several times by dealerships and being told there was nothing that could be done about it. It can be even more overwhelming for children with Autism and/or sensory issues. Fortunately, I was able to avoid an on-road accident, but still was hit with those projectile pieces and now have the added financial component of having to pay for repairs on a vehicle that the dealership has said most of the replacement parts have been discontinued on. …
I was traveling on the highway to work (I'm in the military) and driving about 65 when the sky slider popped up and flew back. I swerved because it scared me, I pulled off the highway as fast as I could, scared the car behind me. I took it to the dealership where they told me that they could fix it but it would cost 4400. I called my insurance company to file a claim and the adjuster denied it because he stated that is a manufactures defect and they don't cover that. This vehicle should be a recall, this could have ended worse if traveling on the highway when this happened. In order for me to get it to the dealer for them to look at it I had to tape it down (due to weather) and I had to use tow straps to keep the sky liner from popping up while driving. …
