On April 20, 2026, my 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L was involved in a crash due to a sudden and complete brake failure. At the time of the incident, the vehicle was in the custody of an authorized FCA dealership. An employee of the dealership was operating the vehicle when the brakes completely failed to respond, resulting in an accident. FCA US LLC Special Investigations conducted an inspection (Case #[96529168]) and stated they found no physical evidence of a manufacturing defect or component malfunction. However, the mechanical or electronic failure was severe enough to cause a crash while being operated by a professional dealership technician. I am filing this complaint because sudden brake failure represents an extreme safety hazard to the public. …

On 10/5/26 our jeep grand cherokee was parked in our drive way with the ignition started and the car in the park position. While my mom was in the car in the drivers seat, the car accelerated forward at a rapid speed and left the park position. The car slammed into my garage and caused severe damage to my garage and the car. The car is a total loss. I submitted this information to the police and to the manufacturer.

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal hissing and tapping sound coming from the engine compartment, with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the wiring harness had failed due to rodent damage. The dealer informed the contact that the wiring insulation was soy-based and had been chewed on by rodents. The dealer stated that rodent urine and blood were found near the damaged wiring, and the area was not cleaned. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was advised by the dealer to place mothballs under the vehicle to deter rodents. The dealer also confirmed that no protective covering or preventative measure would be installed to prevent a future failure. …

Upon starting my vehicle, my dashboard began flashing errors. All the indicator lights were lighted up (power steering, engine, collision detection, traction). The mileage began blinking on and off. Both of the light indicators on my side windows (for blindspot detection) were continuously illuminated even though I was parked and no vehicles were next to me. The error messages that were flashing on my dashboard were: Service Electronic Stability Control, Service Power Steering, Active Lane Management Limited, and Blind Spot Alert Unavailable. I have pictures of all of this. Additionally, when I put the vehicle into reverse, another error message displayed but I didn't get a picture of this message. When I drove the vehicle down the road (less than half a mile), it sounded louder as if I was revving the engine but I was not. …

Generally, for the entire time we've owned the car, it has ongoing and systemic electronics malfunctions. This ranges from the car slamming on its own brakes while driving to systems not working to the seat shifting on its own while driving to false positives in the NAV system, etc. A lot of the malfunctions are funny, some are dangerous, but the common thread is that in spite of months in repair and countless supposed repairs by dealerships, the problems continue. And, yes, some of these absolutely put safety at risk (slamming on the brakes for no reason, false positives on detecting objects in road, seat moving during vehicle operation, speedometer ceasing to work, etc). Chrysler has confirmed and acknowledged these problems in the form of various settlements in spite of our requests for a buyback, offering us money, but leaving us saddled with the lemon. …

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the infotainment display was frequently powering off and on and failed to display pertinent vehicle safety information; however, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, and the contact continued driving to the destination. Upon the return trip to the residence and loading groceries into the rear of the vehicle, the liftgate started to close independently. The contact made several attempts to trigger the liftgate proximity sensor and pinch protection system to prevent the liftgate from closing; however, the vehicle failed to detect the presence of a person, and the liftgate continued to close. In response, the contact jumped into the rear of the vehicle to escape possible injury from the liftgate closing prematurely. No warning lights were illuminated. …

On Friday, January 16, 2026, I was involved in a head-on collision. During the accident, the airbags did not deploy, and the seatbelt failed to lock, which resulted in me not being properly restrained. As a result, I suffered a mild concussion along with significant bruising. In addition to this serious safety concern, we have made numerous complaints regarding ongoing electrical issues with the vehicle. These include the screens frequently changing languages and measurement units, blacking out entirely, or becoming unresponsive. The paddle shifters have also never functioned properly, despite the vehicle being serviced multiple times for this issue. What is especially concerning is that these same problems are widely reported by other Jeep owners online, yet they continue to go uninvestigated and unresolved. Given the safety implications, these issues warrant immediate attention.
