I took my car in for a steering problem to the dealer. The car is weaving out of the lane when it hits uneven pavement. They looked at the car and did a wheel alignment. After that I noticed that the car was still weaving on uneven pavement. After some months I took it back to another dealer. They again tried to do an alignment. I told them to look deeper because that didn't fix it last time. After I pushed them to keep looking a senior tech came back and said it was the steering assembly and that he just fixed one like that. My car was just out of warranty but the dealer would not honor it. So I started looking for the part at a cheaper rate then they quoted me and i found one. I asked the dealership if they would do the labor if I get the part. When talking to another service representative at the dealer he said that he had the same exact car and it almost takes him out the lane. …
The Steering Assembly is faulty in the vehicle. I purchase this vehicle as a used Certified preowned vehicle from Hart Infinity in Connecticut. I looked at several one year old Infiniti's as I had an accident in my 2019 and it was totaled. As I was looking, I notices that several of the vehicles had curb rash on the front rims as well as the one I purchased. After I bought mine in July 2024 I noticed that on uneven pavement the vehicle would pull left and right an I had to fight the steering wheel to keep the car in my lane. My safety was at risk because if I didn't maintain control I could crash into someone. I did some research on some sites and there was several people talking about the same issue. Some thought it was the run flat tires. I replaced my tires and still had the problem. Others thought it was the sway bar. …
This car has been drifting to the right since bought causing premature tire wear which has now been 5 sets of tires in 36k miles. The front right tire always seems to blow out. Alignment has always been knocked out in within weeks. Several independent shops point to defective bushings while infiniti doesn't see the issue. This same issue was recalled for the 2016 models. I've replaced the knuckle and lower control arm and now stays aligned but seems to causing premature tire wear and blowing the right front tire. I cant get more than 10k miles out of a set of tires and constant fighting with the car drifting to the right. I have several more documents. The consumer stated the reason for the drifting, the tire tears, and alignment knocking was due to a defective rack and pinion. …
Vehicle is tramaling or wandering at 50+ mph speeds. Making it dangerously difficult to keep between the lines without constant steering corrections. I have had car aligned and changed the tires. Still issue persists. There are several post online about this issue with the infiniti Q60 and Q50 models.
Affected: Steering/Electrical/Direct Adaptive Steering, 50K miles While driving my 2017 Infinity Q50s under normal driving conditions, the vehicle suffered an instantaneous, catastrophic, and total failure of the power steering assist system without any prior warning or dashboard fault indicators. The sudden loss of steering assist immediately caused the steering wheel to become incredibly heavy and virtually locked, requiring extreme, dangerous physical exertion to maintain minimal control over the direction of the vehicle. Due to the violent and unpredictable change in steering dynamics at speed, I was forced out of my lane and ran over a curb and came moments away from experiencing a severe, life-threatening collision. The vehicle was rendered entirely undrivable and presents an immediate, catastrophic crash hazard. It had to be flatbed-towed to Infinity Valencia dealership. …
Tl* the contact owns a 2017 Infiniti Q50. The contact stated that the power steering failed twice. The vehicle was taken to ray catena Infiniti of edison (900 us-1, edison, nj 08817, [phone]) where it was determined that the vehicle was still under warranty. The vehicle was repaired, but the contact felt uneasy about driving the vehicle. She spoke with her state's attorney general's office before calling NHTSA. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 10,276. Consumer stated the vehicle was parked in my driveway when the power steering failed/malfunction the first 2 times, the third time on May 2nd I was leaving the bank parking lot when it failed again. It was towed 3 times to the dealer (ray catenia Infiniti in nj) the car is currently at the dealer. …
Passenger seat light remain on for 4 months the went away. Then the airbag light came on. Took it to Infiniti of Tampa where they supposedly done diagnostics. They cause additional lights to appear on my dashboard to include the steering hard to turn. When I purchased the vehicle in October 2016 I was unaware of any recalls. I found out about a month ago there approximately four recalls for 2016 Infiniti Q50.
On 12/11/21 my vehicle had limited turning (left or right) capability. The vehicle has < than 23K miles, was purchased at Bommarito Infiniti, and has been serviced at the same dealership since I purchased it. I bought the vehicle new and drove it over the last 5 years as a back-up vehicle to a Chevy Cruze (w/greater than 180K miles on it and no faulty parts). I did not purchase the extended warranty because it was supposedly a reliable vehicle, based on my prior history/ownership of a 2006 G50. I made timely payments for 5 years, performed all of the required maintenance, and took my car in for all of the Infiniti "recalls." After the ability to turn failed, I took the vehicle to Bommarito Infiniti for a diagnostic and routine oil change. The steering diagnostic found 3 leaks on the steering rack and pinion., (no oil was visible on the ground). …
