The climate control/ audio control unit in my G35 froze a few weeks ago making the system inoperable. As a result the the front and rear defrosters have become inoperable creating a dangerous driving condition specially in the rain. This is a common issue for all g35s made from 2003 -2005 and Infiniti is very well aware of it. However they have done nothing to address it. Back in 2003 they have done a recall but only to a limited number of cars that had a particular part number. But the truth is every G35 with the OEM unit is vulnerable to this issue. In ability to control the defrosters affects the visibility which May cause an accident that May result in injuries and or death.

There is an apparent known defect in the 2003 Infiniti G35 models. The radio and climate control will apparently lose all indicators, as if there is no power, but will continue to function, staying frozen on at their last settings. The radio volume or channels cannot be changed and the air conditioning/heater,etc. Are stuck on their last settings and cannot be changed without turning the car off. This is caused by a defective control board behind the dash. Infiniti/Nissan is aware of the problem, and has issued a voluntary service campaign (# itb03-007b) to repair the 26,300 vehicles listed by VIN # on the service bulletin. This is a hazard , as in the winter, the front or rear defrosters cannot be turned on, or the air conditioning turned off, causing a hazardous driving condition. …
The ac and radio controls basically none of the dashboard controls are working including defroster which is big safety hazard and as per Infiniti dealership its a radio and circuitboard issues. After looking at internet I have found that there was a recall campaign (voluntary service campaign 2003 Infiniti G35 sedan; audio finisher circuit board) for this issues -> itb03-007b service campaign -> issue description listed below available on the internet. But Infiniti dealer is not accepting any recall on this ground and they are asking for 1300+ bucks to fix this issue. Can someone please help as I can live without ac and climate controls but not without defroster. Also its a trouble that ac auto turns on at full blown speed which cause too much cold in winter and its a health risk for myself and family including 2 kids. …
The climate control system stopped working, which includes the defroster. Luckily it occurred in the month of May and not in January when the snow flies, as it could have created a very serious safety issue due to the defroster not working. After looking on-line, this seems to be a very common issue to G35 owners and there are numerous blogs describing the same condition. It is due to an electrical failure within the controls for the radio & climate control systems. It appears the safety issue is being ignored, possibly because it's tied to the radio. If there haven't been any accidents/deaths attributed to this, it's probably only matter of time. Within the NHTSA complaints listing it has been reported numerous times. Please don't ignore it any longer. Imagine yourself on a trip cross county, in January, and the defroster stops working. …
Below is what Infiniti sent out. I am experiencing the issue and none of my control panels work. This means that my defrosters on both windows are not an option for me to clear my windshields. This is a safety hazard early morning now as condensation sits on both rear and front windshields. Even though my symptoms are exactly as described, I am refused a solution. This is dangerous and is a known defect in this model and year car. 2003 G35 sedan audio finisher circuit board voluntary service campaign on some model year 2003 G35 sedans manufactured through August 21, 2002, the audio and temperature controls May not operate as expected. When using the audio equipment or the temperature controls, the unit May become inoperative. In some cases, this can be corrected by turning the ignition switch off and back on again. …

My Infiniti g 35 first began having problems with the cd player. It no longer works, but has now progressed to the radio and ac or heater freezing up. It occurs more frequently as time goes on. The safety issue is that I can not control the defrost or heat when it freezes. It happens when I am driving and yesterday the heater on the car turned itself up to 90 degrees with the blower at full blast. My daughter is a college student and I am concerned that when she drives back home on weekends that she will not be able to control the defroster this winter. We never know when this will happen and would hate for her to be on the interstate in the middle of no where and not be able to use the defroster. We also never know if the air or heat will turn to its low or high with the blower at full speed. …
I presently own a 2003 infinit G35. The entire climate control functions and dash lights do not function because of a problem with the radio. A recall was initiated for the "audio finisher circuit board" by Infiniti but the problem still exists. These items will suddenly stop working while driving the vehicle. This happened to me while driving. These items do not function at present. An Infiniti dealer infomred of the recall and also infomred me that my vehicle had already had the circuit board replaced and that the only other problem that would cause this would be the radio. I was also infomred that this is a common problem with this model Infiniti and Infiniti will not take responsibilty for this problem or the repairs. Repairs cost from $600 to $1250. That price quote was stated to by Infiniti. Just a note, all equipment I am referrring to is factory installed. …
Im currently having trouble with my center console losing power to my ac and radio. The problems range from center console display shortages, ac blasting at full strength and being unable to change the setting, to the radio intermittently putting out sound. This problem has LED to safety issues with the car in that the inability to control the ac results in fogged over windshields leading to poor visibility. I've read online that this problem affects many owners of the same car. It was such a problem that Infiniti recalled the '03 G35 sedan for the exact same problems. It is embarrassing that inifiniti does not stand by their product across the board. If they acknowledged that it was a problem in the sedan why are they not responsible for fixing the same problem in the two door model. Would like to know how this problem May be remedied.
