Tl* the contact owns a 2003 Infiniti G35. Upon starting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the air conditioning system and radio failed without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000. Updated 09/21/15
There is an apparent known defect in the 2003 Infiniti G35 models. The radio and climate control will apparently lose all indicators, as if there is no power, but will continue to function, staying frozen on at their last settings. The radio volume or channels cannot be changed and the air conditioning/heater,etc. Are stuck on their last settings and cannot be changed without turning the car off. This is caused by a defective control board behind the dash. Infiniti/Nissan is aware of the problem, and has issued a voluntary service campaign (# itb03-007b) to repair the 26,300 vehicles listed by VIN # on the service bulletin. This is a hazard , as in the winter, the front or rear defrosters cannot be turned on, or the air conditioning turned off, causing a hazardous driving condition. …
The ac and radio controls basically none of the dashboard controls are working including defroster which is big safety hazard and as per Infiniti dealership its a radio and circuitboard issues. After looking at internet I have found that there was a recall campaign (voluntary service campaign 2003 Infiniti G35 sedan; audio finisher circuit board) for this issues -> itb03-007b service campaign -> issue description listed below available on the internet. But Infiniti dealer is not accepting any recall on this ground and they are asking for 1300+ bucks to fix this issue. Can someone please help as I can live without ac and climate controls but not without defroster. Also its a trouble that ac auto turns on at full blown speed which cause too much cold in winter and its a health risk for myself and family including 2 kids. …
I have 2003 Infiniti G35 sedan. Driver's seat rocked back-and-forth. Took it to Infiniti dealer who stated that the driver's seat frame assembly had separated due to faulty weld joints! Dealer stated that the driver's seat frame assembly seat was not covered by any warranty or recall. Dealer also stated that if I didn't pay the $1,100.00 to have the driver's seat frame assembly replaced and I was in any kind of car accident, the faulty driver's seat frame assembly would cause the seat to become completely detached from the car and cause the seat to be thrown about inside the car. I therefore paid to have the driver's seat frame assembly replaced. However, a couple of days ago I noticed that the rocking is starting again! Clearly there is something wrong with the driver's seat frame assemblies that are coming directly from Nissan, which owns Infiniti! …
My Infiniti g 35 first began having problems with the cd player. It no longer works, but has now progressed to the radio and ac or heater freezing up. It occurs more frequently as time goes on. The safety issue is that I can not control the defrost or heat when it freezes. It happens when I am driving and yesterday the heater on the car turned itself up to 90 degrees with the blower at full blast. My daughter is a college student and I am concerned that when she drives back home on weekends that she will not be able to control the defroster this winter. We never know when this will happen and would hate for her to be on the interstate in the middle of no where and not be able to use the defroster. We also never know if the air or heat will turn to its low or high with the blower at full speed. …
The car was bought without the knowledge that the cd player would not eject or take any cd's; this information was not divulged by the seller, bob moore motors of oklahoma city, OK. After having the car for a little over a month, the entire center console (ac controls and radio controls) became unresponsive. The car now emits 90 air on auto ac, forcing me to drive with my window down at all times. In addition, I am unable to turn on the radio or tape player with either the center console buttons or those on the steering wheel. The radio is a raw deal but not my biggest concern. I live in kansas and when it is not very hot (not looking forward to seeing what 90 auto ac feels like in the summer) it is very windy and it makes it difficult to drive with the constant wind noise. …
The A/C comes full blast at a very cold temperature. We are not able to turn it off or turn it down. We are not able to use the radio either. All the radio and temperature controls are not functioning. After a lot of research I found, that this is the same exact problem that was in the voluntary service campaign that inifiniti had back on feb 13, 2003 el03-003reference, itb03-007. NHTSA# 10001253 or 10001162 or 10001246. This service campaign involved the replacement of the audio finisher circuit board. Our car was built in jan 03 and was not covered under this recall is what I am being told, because it only covered 2003 G35 sedans manufactured through 8-21-02. This car should also be covered under this service campaign. Since it is the exact same problem and apparently they did not fix the problem when this car was built. …
Electrical control panel: heat/ defrost/ radio and cd/tape. Intermittent operation was reported to Infiniti dealer in 2008. At the present time (oct. 2010), the control panel is totally inoperable as of the beginning of October 2010. There is no way of controlling the ac/defrost/temperature. The audio/ climate system was inspected and confirmed that the circuitry has internal failure. This has posed a hazard since there is no way of controlling the defrost and fan to unfog the windows. There was a voluntary recall in 2004, however I had not been notified. Several similar complaints have been blogged. Dealer will replace unit for approximately $550.00 at owner's cost. However, it appears that it is a defect by the manufacturer.
The ac/radio controls go out intermittently on by 2003 G35, even though a few G35's were covered under a voluntary service campaign - my VIN # was not on list - ac now stuck on and snow is due in 2 days! Infiniti says not a safety hazard and they will not cover???? I not a safety hazard in cold weather I don't know what is.. There are 100's of post similar to mine on internet - when is someone going to talk some since into Infiniti. This is the thing that is keeping me from ever buying another Infiniti - not so much the problem, things happen- but it the way Infiniti is handling it. They know it was an engineering boo boo and they are refusing to take responsibility. They need to grow up!!!
Bought my Infiniti G35 in May of 2002, ever since day one, the driver's seats seems to be moving, rocking during acceleration and braking.. This seems to be a common problem on a lot of G35's. Dealer's and Infiniti has not relesase a fix that works yet after a year... I believe that this is a dangerous problem, because twice my foot slipped off of the brake pedal during braking and almost caused an accident..... There also seems to be a problem with life of the brake pads and rotors where they might fail prematurely... Most drivers of the g complain that their pads and rotors are needing to be replaced as soon as 8,000 miles and are not covered by the warranty.
