The Multipurpose camera that controls all advanced driver assistance fuctions malfunctions causing these systems to intermittenently not work properly or at all. It has caused the vehicle to fail to brake, and brake on its own without cause. Upon doing my own research I found numerous reports online of other owners of this make/model having the same issue. The problem first occured when my vehicle reached about 50,000 miles. It has been ongoing since. It caused damage to my vehicle when the automatic collision assist failed to brake for a vehicle that stopped abruptly in front of me. The alerts that these systems are not working do not always show up when the vehicle starts. Sometimes they stop working in the middle of the route. …

The 2019 Honda HRV with low miles of around 44,000 miles experienced a series of warning alerts on the dash board consisting of the following list of five problems: Road Departure Mitigation System Problem; Auto High-Beam Problem; Adaptive Cruise Control Problem ACC; Lane Keeping Assist Problem LKAS; and Collision Mitigation System Problem. This started with warm weather at the end of July 2026 and is continuing intermittently in August 2026 as of the date of this write up. I described this to a Honda service person verbally in person in Huntington Beach, CA and they said it was a Multipurpose Camera problem and could fix it for $1,971.23 plus tax. They indicated that the camera was improved so it wouldn't fail so easily. The vehicle has not been physically inspected by dealer service staff yet. …
I recently had my car repaired for the recall and a brake job (replacing pads and resurfacing rotors). A couple of days later, I was driving on the highway at about 60mph. Suddenly, the check engine light, parking brake light, brake light, and brake system light all went on. Additionally, the car was flashing neutral, drive, and parking gears while I was in park and driving. I started to slow down and realized that as my speed got slower, each new low speed became the highest speed I could go - pressing the gas with my foot did not increase the speed. As such, I drove to a nearby garage where the lights were reset. No mechanical issues were found with the car, nor was there a warning. …
The road assist / warning systems on dashboard malfunctioned, suddenly turning on and off, all at once. This caused A safety risk, by a startling distraction while driving, and worrisome stress while the car was at rest. The the problem was reproduced or confirmed by a dealer service rep who stated the car was unsafe to drive. They witnessed all warning lights, messages flashing on and off. This malfunction occurred, June 19-20, 2024. In retrospect, the break warning light would flash on for no reason and slightly break, or engine would stall or lose velocity while driving. The car is currently being serviced by the dealership. Their assessment is the front camera needs replaced. This car is under the warranty for mileage (not driven much during the pandemic), but due to the year, it is outside of warrenty. Obviously, the cause is not wear and tear, but a faulty camera. …
I have only 40,000 miles on my 2019 Honda HRV. Due to utilizing the lane assist, my rack and pinion, inner tie rod ends and steering shaft assembly have all came lose. When I drive, I can turn my steering wheel to the right and left one inch and the wheels do not move. I need to move my steering wheel more than an inch for the wheels to engage due to everything being faulty and loose. I believe this stems from the vibration caused in the lane assist. I will now need to do a $2,000+ repair on a element of my vehicle that should last between 100,000 - 150,000 miles where my vehicle is only at 40,000 miles. I do not have invoice for the repair yet as I'm shopping around due to high cost. I have a video showing what the incident is, but the form won't allow me to send videos. I'm happy to send that video in a follow up.
Defective front-facing camera located above the rear view mirror, used by several car safety systems, fails intermittently causing the dashboard to emit persistent visual and audio warnings. This is a 2019 HRV-EX with approx. 60,000 miles. It happens most frequently when the car interior is hot. The cacophony is so overwhelming that it distracts from being able to safely operate the vehicle. Honda dealer from whom the car was purchased estimated over $2000 to fix the issue. This is a common issue with several Honda models and there is a class action suit filed in US District Court, Central District of CA. Honda should acknowledge there's a design defect in the camera system and offer to repair it at its own expense.
i made an appointment with Garden State Honda of Passaic, NJ located (225 River Drive Passaic, NJ 07055) after waiting months for an appt. finally took my car today 01/20/2025 and when at the Counter rep named Chelsea state that their honda dealer could not honor nor repair my car due to how I purchased the car in an action.. My understanding is even though I purchase a salvaged vehicle the issue is with a recall part from Honda not the car..Now my vehicle has been parked for months waiting for this appt. Has too many lights due to this fuel pump recall and I cant even get my inspection sticker since its now expired with NJ due to the many lights the car has on. I need some help and guidance as to what can be done
I bought this car new in 2019. It was never in an accident. While driving normally, the car started throwing warnings saying the lane keep assist has a problem, the collision mitigatuon system hhas a peoblem, the auto high beams have a problem, the road departure system has a problem. I paid Honda in Surprise AZ $210 for a diagnosis and they told me that it needs a new U3000-49 Multipurpose camera unit will cost $1,730 to replace and install and possibky another $1,420 for a new SRS unit. The car was never in an accident, and both of these should not be breaking after just 5 years of ownership. Clearly the multipurpose camera unit and also likely the srs are defective and should be recalled.
