The air bag light came on in April of 2022 indicating that the air bag will not deploy in the event of a car accident. We took the car to the Honda dealership and the mechanic diagnosed it as a bad seat-belt tensioner and confirmed that the part is under warranty by American Honda. The dealership requested the part from American Honda and they have failed to provide the part to the dealership stating that is is not available. They have given us ETAs for the part but it has never arrived. We requested a rental car to drive while waiting for the part but were denied by both American Honda and the dealership. American Honda's response is that the car just should not be driven. We cannot sell the car while this light in on but need to continue to drive the car for work. The air bag light remains on and still will not deploy if an accident were to occur causing a significant safety risk. …
- Sensor in seatbelt, causing airbags not to deploy (airbag light is on) -Since the airbags will not deploy, this is a danger -The dealer, Avalon Honda, confirmed that replacement of this part is warrantied for life by Honda. They are willing to replace it at no cost but the part has been on "Critical Back Order" status since the problem emerged for us (November 2022). Avalon Honda has not been able to get the part (for the driver's side seatbelt) and my daughter's safety is at risk. Honda warranties this for life BECAUSE it is a safety issue. I've been more than patient and now need help getting Honda to move. -Yes there is a warning light, the airbag light is on. It first appeared in November of 2022. In February Avalon Honda obtained the part "through other means" for the passenger side seatbelt despite the "critical back order" excuse from Honda. …

Description of Incident and Safety Complaint 2004 Honda Civic Airbag Recall I am filing this complaint regarding a safety concern involving my daughter's 2004 Honda Civic and a recalled airbag. Weeks before the accident, we contacted Honda regarding the airbag recall affecting the vehicle. Despite our efforts to address this safety concern, we never received a follow-up call or instructions on when to bring the vehicle in to have the recalled airbag repaired. On Saturday, [redacted], my daughter was involved in a serious accident in Mobile, Alabama. According to her account, another driver swerved, causing her to leave the roadway and strike trees. The vehicles did not make contact with each other. During the crash, the airbag in her Honda Civic did not deploy, and my daughter sustained injuries. The vehicle was severely damaged and is believed to be a total loss. …
I was heading home on 4/30/2017 approx 2 mins away when my car was cut off from another SUV cut infront of me. She misjudged the distance and my car immediately crashed into her car. I was going about 45 MPH maybe a little more. After the crash my car had completely stopped and the driver side air bag did not deflate all the way.
This product at issue is a used 2005 Honda Civic (Vin; [redacted]) purchased at Left Coast Auto Sales LLC [redacted] .from [redacted]. The primary issues are that the dealership sold an unroadworthy vehicle with severe, hidden mechanical defects and critical safety violations, and subsequently refused a formal demand for contract rescission and a full refund. The vehicle was advertised on Facebook Marketplace as a safe, reliable vehicle in good working condition. The contract was signed [redacted]. The vehicle was delivered with multiple severe safety violations that make it completly illegal and hazardous to drive, which we have independent documentation too prove from Big O tires. This readout confirms critical safety failures including an active airbag system (SRS) defect. That was hidden prior to sale by recent code clearance. …

2005 Honda Civic 4dr manual transmission frontal collision at highway speed - airbags did not deploy, front seat belt failed to restrain driver who contacted steering wheel. Driver injured and transported to hospital via ambulance; vehicle towed and insurance adjuster states vehicle damaged beyond repair and a total loss. Based on my experience (7 years as a 911 emt) the airbags ought to have deployed with this severity of impact, and their failure to do so needs to be investigated.
I had common wealth motors in lawrence massachusetts replace my air bag in on 08/05/2015 due to many post card warnings I kept receiving by mail. Soon after, a light indicating my seat belt connected to my airbag continues to stay on. I went back to common wealth motors because of an inspection sticker issue with this light problem and they tried to get me to pay over 500.00 dollars to fix the issue as well as shut the light off. It is 12/8/17 and the light is still on.
"Takata recall" reports and vehicle safety test reports are un-satisfactory with the 2005 Honda Civic. I have requested fucco Honda to resolve an airbag warning light on my dashboard, and fucco Honda has failed to repair my vehicle after service appointments and safety inspections.
