On October 3, 2025, at approximately 1:00-1:30 PM, I was driving southbound on the Hardy Toll Road in the far-left lane on my way to a friend's house. Road conditions were dry, and it was a bright, sunny day. While driving, I noticed something felt unusual with my vehicle. Other vehicles began passing me, so I checked my side-view mirror to see if there was an issue with my rear wheel, but I did not observe anything. When I looked forward again, there were no vehicles directly in front of me. Suddenly, my car locked up, and the word "BRAKE" appeared on the dashboard. My vehicle immediately began veering sharply to the right. While veering, my vehicle was struck on the passenger side (T-boned) by another vehicle. The impact caused me to collide with the guard rail, strike a freeway sign, and ultimately crash into the tree line near the water off the roadway.
The contact owns a 2024 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at 55 MPH, the Forward Collision Avoidance: Automatic Emergency Braking system was activated, bringing the vehicle to a complete stop. The contact stated that there were no other vehicles or objects nearby. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The brake warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 13,000.
I was traveling to Kentucky from NYC in December 2025 and while in Pennsylvania a sign on my dash stated your safety equipment was out because of a build up on the front lens outside of the car and it stated to stop and clean it off, so I pulled off to the side of the highway and stopped my car and when I stiffed it into park there was a griming noise from the transmission. When I went into the dealership for my next oil change I reported it and they didn't even want to note this down on my service report. They said it happened to long ago and they didn't care about the problem, I just wanted them to know for future use. …
Subject of Complaint: Sudden, simultaneous failure of critical safety and driver assist systems originating from an electronic sensor/control module failure inside the electronic power steering (EPS) gearbox. Description of Safety Hazard and Dashboard Indicators: While operating the vehicle, the Driver Information Interface (DII) suddenly illuminated with multiple critical safety faults simultaneously. The primary indicator was the amber Electric Power Steering (EPS) System Problem warning light (steering wheel icon with an exclamation point). Due to the electronic architecture of the vehicle, the loss of reliable data from the steering gearbox caused a cascading failure across the Honda Sensing safety suite. …
The vehicle is experiencing an immediate and severe safety hazard due to a total electrical and mechanical failure within the steering column assembly. The driver horn has stopped working entirely, leaving the vehicle with no way to audibly warn pedestrians or other drivers in an emergency. Additionally, all integrated steering wheel auxiliary controls and buttons are completely non-functional, which points to a failed clock spring/cable reel or an electrical short inside the steering column. This total system failure creates an unacceptably high risk of a collision and raises severe concerns regarding whether the driver's steering wheel airbag will properly deploy in an accident. The vehicle is currently un-driveable, legally unsafe to operate under state transit laws, and induces extreme driver anxiety. …
While driving home from work in my 2024 Honda Accord EX 1.5T, multiple warning lights suddenly came on on the dashboard. Shortly afterward, I began smelling a strong gasoline/fuel odor inside the passenger compartment. I stopped the vehicle and got out. I could also smell gasoline outside the vehicle. I opened the hood and the gasoline odor was still noticeable from the engine compartment. Because I was concerned about the safety of the vehicle, I went to the nearest O'Reilly Auto Parts and had the vehicle scanned. The diagnostic scan showed P0172 (Fuel System Too Rich, Bank 1), P0300 (Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire), P0301 (Cylinder 1 Misfire), P0302 (Cylinder 2 Misfire), and P0303 (Cylinder 3 Misfire). The vehicle had approximately 82,063 miles at the time. …
On 2 separate occasions while driving, I have taken an exit that has 2 left and 2 right turn lanes. While I'm in the middle left turn lane and a car is in the middle right turn lane the radar cone for the emergency braking system will trigger an imminent collision and slam on the brakes even though cars are in completely different lanes and I have nothing in front of me. Both incidents have caused near misses from cars behind me. I'm not sure I even feel safe driving this car anymore, if technology that is supposed to keep me and my passengers safe is this unpredictable to the interpretation of my environment, it will inevitably cause a collision and after viewing articles around news outlets it looks like this has already happened. It seems to be a sensitivity issue with the sensors on the front of the car or that the sonar is too wide. …
Lane Assist Issues. During the time inwhiche I've had the Honda Lane Assist on I've experienced the car wanting to abruptly change direction, system acted as if it was trying to avoid a collision or navigate a non existing turn object in path. I'm also experiencing issues with the TSR system - Honda Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR). This system will show a stop sign, yield sign when there isn't any sign of any type around. I'm also experiencing time when it's indicates I'm traveling in a wrong way direction as a sign in instrument panel will appear showing a red sign with a black mark across which indicates a do not enter. This could cause an accident if happening to a driver in a unfamiliar area as they might come to an ubrupt stop thinking their going in a wrong direction or going to run a stop sign. …
